Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

I can't wait for my second party! My best friend and I went last year at the end of September- we had a blast! We walked right on to almost every ride in the park, got some candy, but didn't do any pictures (not really our thing). We headed in around 5pm. We were shocked by the efficiency of the CMs escorting non-party people out of the parks! We're going back this year (Sept 23rd party) and taking a friend who hasn't been to a MNSSHP before and she's PSYCHED to be going. I can't WAIT!!:cool1:

Tips: 1) You will not be out of place in a costume. Remember that Orlando is still quite warm that time of year, so plan your costumes accordingly. (I bought a Pooh Halloween scrub top and black scrub pants, and I was STILL warm for the party.) 2) Wear shoes you can walk for miles in. We saw a girl dressed as a Barbie doll, and I don't know how she planned on walking the park for hours in the heels she was wearing. 3) Try to eat before the party, since many things are closed. 4) For information on last year's party, there's a really great thread from last year, I think called "The Official 2010 MNSSHP- Tips,Tricks and a few Treats !" If you've never been before, this might be a good place to get first-hand knowledge of the party.

Super excited for this year! Can't wait for the party to start!!

Yeah just posting to see my ticker today. So close and yet still so far....
Bought shoulder pads and sew on snaps for my costume this weekend. The top part is halfway sewn together!

Thanks, we will just have to see how things are moving that night with the dwarves. BTW I don't have small children, we couldn't afford the World when my kids were little, so they are making up for lost trips now. (At 20 and 21) :rotfl: I do feel bad when I read the silly posts from folk who think adults shouldn't do meet and greets (or dress-up). There is just something wonderful about the magic of Disney that brings out the kid in all (er, most) of us.

As I have always said....you are never too old to enjoy the magic of Disney. It allows adults to be kids again and not just through the eyes of their kids or grandkids. Enjoy the heck out of your time the way you want to enjoy it.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a costume for an 8 year old boy??

The past 3 years he has gone as a pirate.

My daughter is going as the Little Mermaid this year.

Does your little want to do a Disney costume? My DS did Buzz Lightyear, Star Wars Clone Trooper, & Woody that were all light weight costumes.

thinking of doing two parties basically because i love them so much. But i am wondering if CRT is open during the party?

where are the dwarves usually located? I know we will need to line up early for them

Last year they were in the stroller parking lot in Fantasyland. But since that area is under construction, I believe they will need to relocate this year.

CRT is open during the party. Those without a ticket to the party may make an ADR up to but not including 7 PM. When you finish, they will escort you to the front of the park unless you have a ticket.

I would never spend party time in a restaurant (assuming you bought a ticket to the party). There's too much party stuff to do to be cooped up in a restaurant for an hour or longer. Make your ADR earlier in the evening so you'll be done before 7.

We haven't decided which date we'll attend yet, but excited to be there anyway!!

Will the "Mad Hatter's & Alice's Treat Trail" still be in the same place, or will the new Fantasyland construction interrupt the trail? If so, I wonder if they'll move it elsewhere in the park?

That was my favorite last year!!!! And there really werent many people on that trail so the cm's were dumping candy in our bags!! My guess this year is that its not going to be there since they have both ends blocked off:sad2:

I am a local so I know the park pretty well from experience. The hitchhiking ghost photo op is usually located between the haunted mansion and the liberty belle. It's a hard one to spot. Usually it's just a photo pass person. It's a good idea to ask the photo pass person in that area.

As far as a touring plan, I usually decide what things are important and map out how to accomplish all of them.

Last year the hitchhiking ghost photographer was by the horseless carriage in front of the haunted mansion!! My photo turned out so cool! Wish I would have bought one, this year I definatley will!!!pirate:

We are going to the party on Oct. 25th but staying for the week. This is our first time at Disney! My question is could we see the fireworks from our hotel (Poly) on another night that the party is offered? Is there a difference between wishes and the halloween fireworks? Is there still music piped in for the Halloween fireworks?

Thanks so much! My first ever post:)

Welcome to the DIS! We are going to be there the same time as you. MNSSHP fireworks, as well as the parade are different on party nights. Imo, the parade is the best parade Disney offers. Regular Wishes will be on the non-party nights. There is a great view of the fireworks from the beach at the Poly.

I saw someone had some amazing pictures taken from the poly beach. I would love to know this too. I think it would ahhmazing to sit on the beach with a frosty adult beverage and watch the fireworks!!!

Yes, you can get great views (and pics) from the Poly beach! We were not able to do the party back in 2009 (our 2nd trip), but I knew (from DIS!) that you could watch Wishes from the beach, so I took a chance and bundled up the family to go! We did dinner at Cooks, grabbed a few lounge chairs and watched the whole thing. They pipe in the music, too, so you can hear the fireworks choreographed to the music. It was a great night!

It's where the picture next to my ticker came from, it's my favorite picture EVER. :thumbsup2

Doing the happy banana dance!!!:banana::banana: Booked flights yesterday, reserved our hotel and bought tickets for 9/30 party this morning! DD2 is going as a pirate wench (that's all DH's term, but she does sing the song for us :rotfl2:) All that's left is rental car and to make sure I get the day off from work.:banana::banana: :cool1::cool1::cool1: :banana::banana:

What are the crowds like on this day (it's the last cheapest ticket party) from 4-7 and then 7-12 and then on Saturday? I think that's also a 1/2 marathon date, too. Will it be crowded? DH is so worried the MNSSHP tix were going to sell out for 9/30.

I can't wait!!!!

Never have done the Halloween Event at MK.....By reading on DIS it sounds really really fun and something a little different

Group of 8 of us, so obviously we are going to be Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs....easy costumes though. I get to be SNOW !!! I planned the entire vacation and made all the ressies and did research, so I demanded I get to be the Princess !! I'll be a precious 46 year old Princess !! MY DH was given Grumpy.....

We are flying so can't pack a lot of extra stuff....Still going to be Great !!

BOOO TO ALL OF YOUUUUU

OH, do you take your own bag to collect treats ??? Are the treats "Good" candy, or just plain hard candies ?? Curious

I forgot about this thread and started a new post. I though this would be a better place. I don't recall seeing the answer anywhere. Here was my question:

Is a MNSSHP Visa Discount ever offered for Disney World ?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I saw this Disney Chase Offer Today for Disneyland:

Buy Early and Save on select nights in September & October to Mickey's Halloween Party at the Disneyland® Resort. Cardmember tickets start at $44.1

http://disneyrewards.disney.go.com/o...eenjuly11.html

We are new Visa Chase holders. I was just wondering if anyone has seen a similiar discount in the past for Disney World parties. Thanks.
