October 17, 2009 Western

Laura, I did the spray tan once, too. I really don't like to fake bake, and only do it for vacation. I'm not paying to keep it up, and I lose a tan so quickly, I'd have to go often. My BFF was getting married, and her entire bridal party was Italian except for me, with beautiful skin tones. I didn't want to tan, so got the spray tan. It did get real patchy, around hands, and cleavage areas. Not to mention, I couldn't stand the smell. The tech told me it's base was beet sugar? Never again. I'll stick with my pasty, I mean porcelain complexion outside of the Caribbean;)

I have no excuse not to try to sit out in the Sun here. I just don't like to sit out in the heat. It was over 100 here again today. But wait there is a cold front coming in and it will drop to 10 to 15 degrees by tomorrow. :lmao:

BTW... we were in target this evening and saw the Halloween Tshirts for Women. I was thinking about the Skull and Cross bones t-shirt of pirates night, but could not bring myself to buy it. I would never probably wear it again. The had 2 different ones (one black and one pink) and they were both nice ones. Also no halloween costumes for DH and I... DD will be representing our family in the Halloween parade on the ship.

Does anyone know what day the Halloween parade/trick or treating will be? I'm trying to plan out the kids outfits and need to know whether it will be in the afternoon or night time and what day of the cruise... we may not find out until the first Oct cruise sets sail...

Wow time is just flying by, we were so lucky as to be able to spend the night in one of the new 2 bedroom villas at The Disney's Grand Californian tonight, I think I could get used to this DVC Thing!

You know Steve I believe you get a discount as a cast member on DVC. Anyway. You are so right. I leave 2 weeks from today. I can't wait to meet all of you. Remember, find me in Rockin Bar D at the bar.

what are you all doing in Grand Cayman. I can't find anything to do or a beach to go to for the day???

Does anyone know if there is anything like Paradise Beach (Cozumel) in GC?

Like some others, we're doing the Pirate Encounter, and then we will just go to a beach on our own. Here is a really good thread with a lot of information about things to do and beaches to visit at Grand Cayman: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1302999.

Here's a similar informative thread for Cozumel: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1303001.

Here's one for Key West: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1302997.

While I'm at it, for anyone who plans to walk around Key West, here is the best map that I've found: http://fla-keys.com/maps/img/KeyWestOldLg.jpg. If you can't jump right to the map, go to this site: http://fla-keys.com/maps/, and then click on "download a printable PDF version" under Key West - Old Town.

Hope these are helpful!

Well, I didn't make it to tan this morning. I did change the dogs feeding schedules around so that they are eating in the late morning. Now I just come home at night and do the "business" and go to bed. I did well about waking up earlier this morning, but we had some weather changes, so I awoke with a screaming headache. It still hasn't gone away! Wondering how much IBU my organs can handle before permanent damage occurs...:rotfl:. I did manage to make some super yumm-o salmon patties to take to work for dinner today. At least I have food. I tan easily and keep a tan, I just must practice dilligence in these last days and go!

One of my best friends does the spray tan and has a large clientel. Many people will not let anyone else spray them. She even has some crazy guy who does some sort of modeling on the side... he sprays naked!! He was polite enough to ask if she minded... She said not unless he did... it's all about the business, I guess.... I'm thinking.... EEEWWWWWW! :rotfl2:

We have our 1st Studio stay in Feb and 1BR stay in April. Can't wait!!! The views of all the rooms look amazing! Especially PP, looks like you can reach out and touch the Mickey Wheel! Glad you enjoyed the rooms!

Baloohoo.. we are doing the Pirate Encounter as well and thinking about doing the Seven Mile Beach too!! Should be fun.. just wanted something 'to do' and hopefully get to see a bit of the Cayman's sea life.. :)

I know there was a question about when we were leaving - just a few days before the cruise to give us some time to get from our Miami flight down to PC and to get over the jet lag..!:banana::banana::banana:

These links are great! Now I need to decide if we should go to Margaritaville or Nachi Cocum Beach after our Pirate encounter. My husband is a Parrot Head, so I'm thinking Margaritaville but...

We're going to Nachi Cocum (or Nachi Kokomo, as we've been calling it). We have 8 adults and at least 4 kids in our group going to it. Based on the reviews of this beach, I'm definitely looking forward to it!

I feel your pain. We've had such turbulent weather changes here. I've had a headache for days now. Weather and stress actually - but mostly weather. I am also concerned about too much medication so I've stopped taking the ibuprophin and started drinking a ton of water and using a warm rice sock on my neck and shoulders and feet and that seems to help.

I just assumed most people sprayed naked so you wouldn't have lines or ruin your swimsuit.

I forgot about the Pirate Encounter. I think that would be a lot of fun, too. ..decisions...decisions...

baloohoo-- Wow thanks for posting the links!!! One of the main reasons we wanted to do a cruise was to see the different islands. It is like the best of both worlds vacation!!!

My husband has been working so much OT that we have not really sat down and looked at what is going on. We plan on going scuba diving in Grand Cayman.....have not been in 15 years!!! ugh... oh well.

We are going with our bff's (doberlady) so whatever we end up doing will be a blast I am sure!!!!

Its OCTOBER!!!!!!!!!! Two weeks from tomorrow we leave!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Has anyone booked any spa treatments yet? I booked DH a massage today for the first morning, before we get to key west. Is there something he might be missing with an 8am massage (other than sleep or food)?

I am kind of holding off booking anything for me. I would only want a half body massage, but could not book those online for some reason.

Laura

Angie - Since you only have 1 weekend left. Have you started packing?

I've done some, but I'm starting to get nervous. So much to do, so little time! I really need to try and stay focused and finish up the majority of the packing this weekend. I did get a few of the last minute things that I was planning for next week completed... 3 of the kids got haircuts today and I paid 90% of the October bills with just a few more left to be paid tomorrow. I also contacted DVC with our room request. Tomorrow I'll do our online check-in for BLT and finish printing out confirmations, etc. I'll probably hit Wal Mart too for a few items that I just realized we still need. Saturday will be the big packing day!

7 Days, 16 Hours, 16 Minutes!!!

How is your packing/planning coming?

Hi everyone,

We just booked our 1st Disney cruise a couple of days ago and will be sailing with you guys on the 17th.

I only have 2 weeks to research and plan:eek: I feel so far behind.

The trip with consist of myself, my mother, and my 2 kids-Isabelle age 6 princess: and Danny age 4 pirate: We will be leaving my husband and 1 1/2 year old at home for this trip. Hoping to go with them in 2011 when my youngest turns 3.

We are flying in from California and my kids are so excited about this trip. We had originally planned to go to Hawaii and just changed our plans this week. So I am scrambling to learn about the ports, ship, and how to make magnets.

My kids are very outgoing and love playing with other kids, so I don't know if I will see them this whole cruise. I don't think they will want to leave the club.

If anyone has any tips or advice for me for this last minute trip I would love it. Also, if anyone has similar aged kids, I would love to hear from you.

Hope to meet some of you on board.

Kristi,
Welcom. I am n Los Angeles myself. When are you flying in? Are you going to WDW? My only tip. Calm down. Stop stressing. Have fun.
