November 8, 2008 7 Night Eastern 11/8/2008 11-8-2008 FIRST POST UPDATED ON 10/16/08

Hi All!! We would to like thank everyone for all the FE treats, DS always wants to go back to the room after dinner just to see what he got. It was very nice meeting all of you and Kate, again thank you for organizing this.
I'm sure you guys saw the news a week ago, we went home to a brushfire here in California and it took us about 2 1/2 hrs to get home (normally just 45 mins. to 1hr drive from L.A.) because of the traffic. One of the fires were really close to where we live, believe it or not the one in Corona (where it started) was just about 2 miles away from our house, lucky for us the wind blew in the opposite direction otherwise we would have been hit.
very scarey!! It could have been a horrible homecoming for you. My sister lives in Chino Hills and could see flames from her home. She said the 57 freeway was closed along with a lot of slow moving on the 10. So glad our home is safe.

My sister also lives in Chino Hills, they were very scared, put some important stuff in the car and ready to go in case they have to evacuate. My brother who also lives here in Corona, the fire was just in his backyard maybe 30-40 feet away :scared1: they left their house thinking that's it we're gonna loose our house but good thing it didn't. 91 freeway was closed (w/c is our route to get home) so we had to go around and take 10 (60 would have been closer but traffic was worst) to 15 freeway.

What a rude awakening to return home to these cold temperatures after the wonderful warm vacation we all experienced.

Who could complain about where we went on this cruise with the weather we had:) . I don't think there could have been seven days of more delightful sunny days! We have not had one day that there has not been snow in our side yard since we returned home!:scared1: !

I want to say "Thank You" so very much to everyone who delivered the great gifts to the fish extenders. It was like Christmas every day. What a great group of talented people with so much fun and thoughtfulness.

If I ever had a vacation that I just wanted to reach out and make time stand still, this was surely the one. Our daughter and son-in-law loved every moment of it and we have talked so much since we returned home...nearly every day and there is always something about the cruise!

Thanks again to everyone and we wish all of you a wonderful
Thanksgiving!

Not sure how many are still viewing and posting our cruise thread this late but we just got home a couple days ago since we spent a week in Orlando after the cruise and it was cold there. Nothing like our lovely cruise weather. I too am so thankful to everyone for the great FE gifts. My DD and DH were the ones who were so excited each time to see what we got in the FE. Even though DH thought I was totally crazy before hand. Now he understands the fun of it, well almost. ;) Maybe for the next one he won't look at me like I am crazy when I am filling gift bags up to mail to our vacation destination beforehand. Hope to see you all on other cruises in the future and I think maybe photos to recognize people ahead of time would be really fun.

We get on the Magic next Sat. 11/22. Can I ask how was the food and service? I have read lately that the food hasn't been that great. Anything new and exciting on the ship?

Sorry I have been very busy and have not been here for a while. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Day.
The food was great. Anytime I don't have to shop, cook or clean it up is great for me. As usual Disney's food was great and so was the service of our waiters and head waiter. :thumbsup2

Welcome home! Any navigators, menus and/or trip reports?

Well for some us we have been on this trip once before. My last cruise in 2006 was exactly this same trip. I commend Disney for keeping our safety their number one priority. They gave us a great trip even though our island hopping was different. They had to do a lot of rearranging also since we had the stop at Castaway Cay twice.

Hello everyone, it was great to meet all of you at the "Meet and Greet."
Thanks Kate for setting up the FE it turned out well. Sorry to hear some of you had problems with your cabins. The only thing we had was a slight sewage smell in the bathroom at times. I had a cold by Wednesday and it was one of the only things I could still smell at times. Other than that we had a great time even though it was a repeat trip for us from two years ago. The biggest highlight was the renewal vows for 1DisneyQueen and DH. It was a beautiful day at Castaway Cay on Friday. Sun was warm and there was a breeze which kept you cool. Everyone looked wonderful in their tropical clothes. The bride arrived in her flower decorated cart. The bride was preceded down the aisle by 4 flower girs and was escorted by her son. The bride and groom looked so happy as they renewed their vows. After the ceremony and pictures we went to Palo for cake, which is the best I have ever had at a wedding, and champagna. It was a treat since no one was in Palo but us. That evening the adults had dinner there and watched the space shuttle launch on deck. It was a great ending to a very happy day for the happy couple. Best Wishes for another 10 years of happiness for them.
Well everyone as I said it was great and hopefully we'll meet again on another cruise. I would love to be able to join you for the 2010, but that is alittle out of our price range. Have a great trip to you all. A Safe, Healthy and Happy Holiday Season to all!!! :grouphug:

Well it has been a long time. Our friends Tracie and Greg and we got together the weekend after we returned home to wipe away some tears and have a few KONK KOOLERS!!!!

What was so funny was that on Sunday (first CC day) I was alone on the beach while Bill was snorkeling and one of those very nice men came over and asked if I would like something to drink......well, yes, yes I do. Please bring me one of those Konk Koolers. It seemed like for-ev-er until he returned. I took a sip and thought, well this is nice, but I don't know what all the fuss was about.

Fast forward to lunch time......

Met up with Greg and Tracie....I had a Konk Kooler....Greg replied that he did as well and were they not the BEST THING!!!.....Well, it's ok, I thought.

Fast forward again to Friday (last CC day)....

Bill orders a Konk Kooler while I was down the beach. It is delivered after I return. WAIT A MINUTE!!! Thats not a Konk Kooler, it is orageish....mine on Sunday was green!!!! Oh NO, that nice young man on Sunday gave me the WRONG DRINK!!!!

I took a sip...... OH MY GOSH!!!.......Please, Please bring my one of THESE!!!:worship:

No wonder Greg liked them so much. He thought that I was such a Dork for not liking it as much as he did.

Anyway.... one of the funny things that happened to me on the cruise. I miss it all ready.

Anyone else have any funny stories?

Just wanted to stop by to wish everyone Happy Holidays! Hope we cross paths again as it was many happy memories!:santa:
