Notable Residents in your Town.

The famous British experimental filmmaker, writer and poet Jane Arden (director) was born in *place*.
Members of the influential band, Manic Street Preachers Richey James Edwards, James Dean Bradfield and Sean Moore were also born there.
Poet Myfanwy Haycock and opera singer Dame Gwyneth Jones were also born in the area.
Actor Anthony Hopkins attended *my school in it's boys grammar days* as a boarder for a brief time.
Politicians Joan Ruddock and Roy Jenkins were born and educated in the area.
Other notable people born or brought up in the area include screenwriter Keri Collins, actress Jennifer Daniel, comedian Elise Harris, footballer Marcus Ebdon, model and presenter Annabel Giles, author David Llewellyn and Lee Dainton of Dirty Sanchez.

Oh and obviously they packed up and left as soon as they could. Lucky them.

It is also reputed that it was on the platform of *place* railway station that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards first agreed to form a band, which later became the Rolling Stones.

I've heard that before, I think I know which *place* your on about :)

Noone currently resides in my area I *think*. But Russel Brand (English actor/comedian) was born and 'raised' *here*.

Only other interesting things about my area is that a few famous films were shot here.

Noone famous lives or came from where I live, but New Jersey Monthly magazine ranked my town as its 2nd best place to live in its 2008 rankings.

He owns.

My city always has filming crews.. A few months ago they were filming the hulk downtown with Edward Norton.

Part of Hairspray was filmed here too.

And some XMEN was filmed in the city I live beside. I recognized the dock and was like, OMG SQUEE, HUGH JACKMAN WAS WITHIN LIKE 30 KILOMETERS OF ME XD

Apparantly these were filmed here too..

Death to Smoochy (2002) Robin Williams

The Man (2005) Samuel L. Jackson, Eugene Levy

Man of the Year (2006) Robin Williams

A movie about toronto filmed in hamilton? hmm...
Plague City: SARS in Toronto (2005)

Zoom (2006) Tim Allen

And the movie Four Brothers.. and Exit Wounds.. And.. yeah XD

It's because we have a really dirty downtown metropolis looking core.
So... movies looking for a metropolis can drive 45 minutes to Toronto too and film. But Toronto is prettier than Hamilton. Which is probably why they film dirty downtown scenes here XD

these people lived in my town, or in the villages near by:

Joseph Priestley (discovered Oxygen)
David Hemmings (actor)
Julian Cope ( singer, songwriter, author)
Saint Edmund
Walter Goodall George (athlete)
John Pym

my town has like 13,606 people in it. So is quite small!
near by though, alot of films have been made. For example the Harry Potter films. I hope to go and see them next time they are filming there! :)

Russ Howard (two time world champion and Olympic gold medallist men's curler.)

Frank McKenna, Premier of New Brunswick (1987-1997), former Canadian ambassador to the United States of America.

And Vanessa Williams lives in the neighboring town, but she's here all the time.

Here's my list:

Piper Perabo (actress... eldest daughter in the Cheaper by the Dozen movies, Jersey in Coyote Ugly)
Darian Barnes (fullback for the Buffalo Bills)
Todd Frazier (minor league baseball player, #34 draft pick overall for 2007 Cincinatti Reds)
Pavle Jovanovic (bobsledder for the 2006 Winter Olympic team)
Mark & Al Leiter (brothers, both played on the NY Yankees)

...that's about it. We are mostly known for baseball in my town, haha

I know both Piper and Todd. :)

Nobody. And when I say nobody, I MEAN nobody.
Well, all the racers are a few towns over for the Pocono 500. And 50 cent had a home up here with his GF and kid. And Gloria Estefan got in a bus crash here and broke her back!

AHA!
We've got alot of pro football players! From NEPA!
And Breaking Benjamins from Wilkes-Barre. Not too far.
Vannesa Carlton - Milford.
Taylor Swift - Wyommissing.
Jon & Kate plus 8 - Wyommissing.

They're all like under 1 1/'2 hours from here.

Oh, I forgot.
They used to film that old Nickelodeon show "Pete & Pete" here, too.

They were always filming in my school when I was in kindergarten.

Terry Fator - Singer and Ventriloquist, Winner of America's Got Talent in 2007[10]

that's the only one that came up
