" Not-Podcast cruise 1.0, on the Oasis of the Seas, Jun 29th, 2013. 7 night Eastern Caribbean out of Ft. Lauderdale, or they may be doing pre-days at WDW and a bus down to the cruise. Contact Tracey H for info! "

I think on the show they said that dreams pricing is cheaper than the rcc site price. Just to get an idea, I priced an inside stateroom, deck 9 for two adults and a kid (my family) and it's $3,926.13 on the rcc site.

We havc some tweaking to do on the contract and then I need to create a booking engine. As soon as those things are done we will have details - along with all pricing - on our site.

I know this is not a fun word - but we appreciate your patience. :rolleyes1

Sounds like it is still podcast people, but not-Disney.

Val & I can afford to be patient on NPCC 1.0 since we have three other DCL cruises before then. :goodvibes

I wonder about pricing. I know Dreams will cut a good deal with RCL for the cruise. If I recall correctly, RCL's pricing is "fluid" in that it changes, similar to what the airlines do, according to how heavily the ship is booked. Sometimes the cost of a cruise goes down significantly as you get closer to the sail date and the ship still has cabins available.

So, the big question is; will Dreams follow its usual practice of monitoring prices and rebooking at the lower rate if one becomes available (like they do with WDW Resorts) or are we locked into the negotiated rates?

Royal Caribbean, DCL and most cruise lines work on tier pricing. They will all have their own method of liquidating unsold cabins. Dreams will always apply any discounts or change to lower rates when possible, however the cruise line determines the rules. With RCL they do not allow price adjustments once final payment has been made. We are also looking at the rules around price adjustments and group rates.

We have been watching the price of this cruise since talks began and it has gone up steadily.

The pricing we received (and what we locked in with RCCL) for this cruise is pretty much opening day pricing. The price from RCCL now is several hundred dollars more per person (based on stateroom type) than I know what we will launch with.

The issues we are having with the contract are not necessarily related to price so the price we already have will be what we launch with.

Given that this is summer 2013 cruise on one of their newest ships I doubt the price will go down - only up. I also doubt we will be able to get lower pricing than what we contract for.

We will be limitting guests to what we wind up contracted for in our group space.

some of us are less patient than others (as in yours truly - impatience is my middle name)...

is there an icon for fingers drumming on the desk?

anyone know what are 'good' rooms on the oasis?
or a good location?

i don't know anything about RCCL or the oasis......
time to study a bit...

Appreciate the responses from John and Tracey. I have no doubt that Dreams will do everything they can on our behalf. :cloud9:

I suggest looking at the Royal Caribbean message board at Cruise Critic (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=83), as well as reading the Oasis of the Seas reviews posted there: http://www.cruisecritic.com/reviews/review.cfm?ShipID=368; and http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/getreviews.cfm?action=ship&ShipID=368

Me too. I'm going to start by re-listening to the podcast review and then go from there.

do you remember when that was? I'd like to re-listen to it too!!
