No smoking on verandahs enforced?

I'm hoping they followed up with the smokers, although it had no effect. I'm just saying they didn't follow up with me.
Wow! That's surprising! My experiences with Guest Services have been very positive. We had 2 issues we brought to their attention on our Wonder cruise last month. In both cases, they followed up with us and sent us champagne.

Wow! Never gotten any champagne for any issue! Last fall on the Fantasy, due to a malfunctioning washing machine, it took me over 4 hours and two service calls from maintenance, to do a single load of laundry. I was very polite and patient. The guy in charge must have asked me my cabin number no less than 20 times. But it was just so they could refund me my $1 for the washer. Lol.

Different strokes for different folks!

I would have received champagne! ;)

I had a problem on the 2014 WBTA. The first time I went out it was the first day and I could smell the smoke, but couldn't see to confirm it was our neighbors. The next night I saw the glow from a cigarette and I called and reported to GS and I had no more problems with the neighbor for the remaining 12 days.

Haven't had the problem, but I'm asthmatic so, if anything should happen on my upcoming PC Repo, it's good to know most of the time, GS handles the issue promptly.

Our balcony was down wind of smokers in October 2014. GS explained smoke was from the smoking area on the Wonder, but I disagreed. I would go on our veranda at night and the smoke was coming from next to me. We did get some choc covered strawberries for the problem, I would have preferred a smoke free balcony.

I am pretty sure the captain has the right to make you get off the ship if you are not following rules at a port. I would report and every time I smelled smoke I would call guest services. I would make myself a pain in the butt of guest services (being nice of course) and make them deal with the issue. One of the main reasons I pay a premium to sail on DCL is the smoking policy. That makes me mad that they are not enforcing the policy super strictly. I have a right to breathe clean air. You have a right to smoke, but there are places to do so that I can and do avoid.

Just so you know, most of the other cruise lines now ban smoking on balconies...Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Celebrity.

Yes, but not inside the ship. I have bad asthma. Even the scent of smoke on someone is enough for me to have to reach for a rescue inhaler. And after a Princess cruise that was smoke filled thanks to the casino feeding out into the main area, I said enough, no more. Only ships that ban smoking inside would I sail on. That is just me. Others are not as sensitive and I am jealous :/
