No Buy June

Well, I didn't have a $0 day today because it was grocery day. I spend $65.97 on groceries and $8.40 on a book of stamps. I'm going to try to stretch that for the whole week, with buying maybe 1 gallon of milk only. I have all my meals planned out and we have pudding for dessert! :)

Tomorrow won't be a $0 day either because I'm going yard saling, haha! Maybe Sunday???

18th - $6 for lunch at the mall foodcourt
19th - $0
20th - $8 for lunch, $15 on cold & flu drugs
21st - $0

$91/$260 personal spending
$393/$200 Alice's (the new dog) budget

We have spent only just over half of the grocery budget this month and a little over half of "eating out" which is great. The cold weather makes it more appealing to stay home too.

Just as well really with the vet bill being much higher than anticipated!

Tomorrow will also likely be a $0 day too as I have a cold so the thought of spending isn't on the top of my list of things to do.

With a little over a week left in the month, I may go over in the grocery/household budget. It's hard to not just snap up all the summer produce and I'm a sucker for it all. However, sometimes I buy it way too early for when I plan on cooking it. We're also starting to get "safe" tomatos back in the store. How I missed them.::yes::

Groceries at Sam's yesterday, but they were out of bottled water, so I'll have to go out later in the week. But, I do hope to get a few more $0 days in this last part of the month.

Well my budget buster for this month was our spontaneous trip to North Carolina. My mom and grandmother were heading out there to visit my sister in her new apartment (she just got married last summer) and invited me to come along, as long as I helped pay for gas! I decided to go and had a great time, I spent about $45 for food for the whole week, $160 on gas, and $5 on a sweater at the Marine Corps Exchange (tax free!). I'm glad I went, I've never been to NC or the Atlantic Ocean and I thought it was beautiful!! I think I saw more trees last week then I have in my entire 14 years living in Texas. Anyway, it was quite a budget buster at over $200 of unplanned expenses, but I also just got offered a better position at work so I'm not too worried.

24th - ~$90 for online purchase of a new suitcase set

$197.50/$260 personal spending
$393/$200 Alice's (the new dog) budget

I'm sure I have forgotten something from my update!

I lashed out and got a new suitcase set and a new toiletry bag on Disney Online tonight - 65% off, additional 10% off, $5 shipping and 2 free Walle tickets.

I was needing a new suitcase as my one is pretty sorry for itself and it was cheaper than buying it a the mall - I'm getting it sent to my friend in CA and will collect it when we go in August. I'll just have to take my stuff over to the US in a plastic bag or something. :lmao:

24th - ~$90 for online purchase of a new suitcase set
25th - $8 for lunch as I was working in the city
26th - $0
27th - $8 for lunch

$213.50/$260 personal spending
$393/$200 Alice's (the new dog) budget

Only a few days to go until the end of the month!

I'm still here! I've just been spending most of my online time searching and bidding on a rental car for my Sept trip.

I've also done some shopping. DH broke his cell phone, so I had to get him a new one. His Saturn has 198K miles on it and he commutes 18 miles down a country road, so I hate for him to be without. Then lawnmower+gardenhose=trip to Walmart. We've had almost no rain, so one hose isn't going to keep my trees and plants happy. Sadly, I've given up on the lawn. But, at least it doesn't need mowing. I bought some pantyhose and DS a toy as well as picked up a few things that are cheaper at Walmart, mostly our organic favorites.

I am beginning to wonder if I should post a July thread? Any thoughts? Lurkers? I just wonder if the No Buy has run its course? Personally, I will keep tracking myself, as I just love seeing the $0 days.

I'm here too! I'm still tracking everything even if I'm not posting as often as usual. These No Buy threads have helped me save so much money since I started in March, but even if there wasn't a thread, I would keep doing it!

Some of the other threads are a little quiet so maybe its something to do with most people doing stuff away from the computer over the summer?

I'm in for July if others are - we are going on holiday part way through August so I need to save my pennies more than ever now.

As a sometime "No Buy" poster, I would say--yes--post a July thread! Doesn't hurt to try to keep on track. And since it's the 29th, I will post my results for this month-- which were horrendous, despite the fact that I have not stepped foot in Target, Walmart, or any kind of mall all month. Some of it was unavoidable, but still-- not my best effort.

Gas, groceries, entertainment, dining out-- all over budget. (Gas by 60%, groceries--25%,entertainment (long story--+300.00), dining out-- I can't even post--it's so bad. we have developed a taste for a neighborhood watering hole, where everybody knows your name. Anyway, I could use the motivation to get back on track.

Yes, please keep hosting the No Buy threads. I do not post often, but do read them faithfully. You are doing a great job! Thanks!

Even though I've not been posting I do read :)

I normally end my month on a weekend so I guess today is the last day. I am just $8.05 in the hole for the month, that is really good for me! It was baby hairbows that did me in lol

I did buy a kitchen table and chair set for $325 (had been $700 at least!) but I going to pay for that with my chacha money.

I am ready for July! I would of had a lot of extra money if I hadn't run across a baby PJ sale and bought some bigger sizes. It's so sad when babies outgrow their little footie jammies!

:yay: :yay: :yay: I will post a July thread today.:yay: :yay: :yay:

Yesterday, I received my reward for paperwork red tape earlier in the year when I got our Homestead exemption correction check! Or should I say, WDW received our correction check?:goodvibes
