It is kind of interesting to see how people added points over time: We bought in 150 points at OKW (when they opened up the points for the new buildings) from Disney in August 2000, added on 32 points in July 2002 at BCV (actually we added on earlier, but the official date was July 2002 because that was the official opening of the resort and we were one of the original owners), added on 32 points at OKW (our name finally came up on the waiting list for an add on, and we didn't pass it up) in April 2003, and added on 60 points at HH in October 2004. Wonder what we will add on in 2005, LOL (and kidding,....I think, LOL).

We originally bought 230 OKW points, and then added on 150 more a year later.

We started with 150 at BWV in 9/00.

In July, 2001, we added 100 at HH.

In July, 2002, we added 82 at HH.

In July, 2003, we added 100 at HH.

Hmm, whenever SSR went up for sale, we added 100 there.

In May, 2004, we added 150 at SSR.

In Oct, 2004, we sold our original 150 BWV points.

August '03, 200 pts. BWV
Sept. '03, 50 pts. VWL
March '04 150 VB

I think we have what we need, considering a move to Florida is probable in 3-4 years, and we expect to host people in our home for the weekend and then all head out to WDW whatever the season.

Originally bought 240 BWV points
time passed...
acommodations became smaller as kids grew bigger...

2/04 waitlist came thru for 65 BWV points
but we still needed more...

then came the SSR incentive:
9/04 bought 130 SSR points and
also bought another 60 BWV points while we were talking about it anyway.

current tally: 365 BWV, 130 SSR

Yay Red Sox!
(just one more curse to reverse next Tuesday:teeth: )

August 2003- bought 225 SSR points while on vacation

August 2004- 1wk in 2BR @ SSR

Sept 2004-added on 130 more SSR points after vacation

August 2005- 8 days AKL-C and BCV-2BR

Sept. 2005- Possible add-on(would love to get BCV points) after Vacation

Hoping to see a pattern develop!! :teeth:

We bought 150pts at OKW in Sept. 97' and then added on another 100pts at OKW in Nov.97':teeth:

We bought 200 points at BWV about 2 years ago (resale), after renting points from a friend. We decided on that trip that we were buying DVC, but we wanted to buy resale. It worked out great. I think we paid under $70/point for those.

Then, we bought 50 more points at Vero when they were doing some sort of special before it sold out. We bought directly from Disney that time.

Started with 300 Boardwalk Points in January 2000

Added on 100 Vero points in October 2002

I think that should do it for us. :D

May 2000 - Original 230 points at the BWV.
November 2000 - 70 points at the BWV.
March 2002 - 100 points at the BCV
March 2003 - 100 points at the BWV.

Wish for the future - 200 more at the BWV. It is addictive.

For us it was (all at OKW);

Original contract - 210 points, January 1995.

Add on - 40 points, November 1995.

Add on - 50 points, December 1996.

Add on - 150 points, October 2000. This was when OKW had more points available by the removal of the Commodore House (Sales Center).

Add on - 5 contracts of 125 points each, January 2002. This happened when in October/November 2001, I informed our guide that we desired to purchase quite a few more points at OKW (OKW was sold out at this time). After two weeks or so our guide informed us that the points they had for the sold out resorts, accumulated through ROFR, foreclosures, etc. would be made available through a waitlist. We were first on the waitlist and purchased 625 points.

Resale - 300 points, February 2004.

Resale - 300 points, March 2004.

Total to date 1675 all at OKW.

I'm currently shopping for one or two more resale contracts of 200 points or so. The goal is 2800 to 3000 points to allow extended stays at OKW during the winter months...retirement in mid 2007 is fast approaching.

Originally bought a resale, closed in January of 2003
196 points March Use Year, Villas at Wilderness Lodge (from Pat Spell at TTS)
29 point add on in May of 2003, same UY (from DVC)
35 point add on Just Yesterday!!!!!!!(from DVC)

Total of 260 points, hopefully this should be enough!!!!

We started a 70 pt resale purchase at OKW in July of 2002 that closed in Sept as a way to "ease" into DVC. We got more interested though and didn't want to wait so in early Aug bought 150 at BCV and then in November they sent out a letter about a price increase so we went ahead and bought 80 more at BCV for a total of 300 pts, 3 contracts, at 2 resorts.

We've been thinking of another add on but I don't know where right now, maybe a VWL or more OKW.

Sept 1999 - 230 BWV

Aug 2001 - 50 VB

Aug 2002 - 50 VB

Oct 2003 - 100 SSR

These points seem to suit our needs right now.

September 2000 - OKW 200 pts

September 2003 - OKW resale - 150 pts

Total 350 pts -

Thinking of adding on another 130-150 pts @ SSR so my inlaws could take advantage of our DVC more.

We originally bought 168 points at BWV in August of 2000...but didn't close until October (I think there were a bunch of us in this batch where closing was held up). Then we added 32 points at VWL in May of 2001....before ever using our DVC membership for a stay.

Our first DVC trip was Jan. 2002!

Ideally we'd like to round out our points to a full 200 at each BWV and VWL....but I think the first step will be a 150 point resale at VWL. That won't be for several years, however....I wish it could be sooner, but that's life. We're happy to have what we have.

We bought 210 BWV in Apr. 2004
Added on 200 VWL in Sept. 2004
Added on 65 OKW in Oct. 2004

I would like some more BWV points...but, we are DEFINITELY waiting for awhile. Part of me is "waiting" to hear if any details will be forthcoming concerning a POSSIBLE (probable ;) ) Contemporary resort. I'm not sure if we would rather have there or BWV...but, the 12 extra years would be nice!!
