NEW...DOLPHIN/SWAN..."questions and answers"...tips and hints!

DrmWvr: glad to see another nurse on this thread! Can;t answer any questions because I am not going till Nov to the Dolphin. Got the nurse rate. Can't wait!

Guys: I bleed black and gold. Die hard Steeler fan here. Sorry to you ww52: you got Cordell. Enjoy him- I will enjoy you having him instead of us!

To all the teachers: Take care of the kids for us. I am missing my baby who got on the bus for 1st day of kindergarten today. My daughter is with him though, she is in fourth grade. Just trying to fill time till I pick him up at 11:15.

Have a good day all!!

Donna

firstmickey ~ It doesn't get easier sending them off to school even when they're older. My DS started high school and I had to stop myself from crying. ( I did not want him to think his Mom was a big "dork" as he would say).

Enjoy your son's first day of Kindergarten, hopefully he'll come home with lots to tell you:D :bounce: :D

My son also starts kindergarten soon. They grow up way too fast!!

yay! I can post, I can post! I'm so proud of myself :)

that was our view (from the Dolphin) last fall....along with this

all I need is a tag, and I'm all set!

 Oh, Jgates....I tried to "Copy" the image props and then paste, but here's the message I received:

You have included too many images in your signature or in your previous post. Please go back and correct the problem and then continue again.

Images include use of smilies, the vB code tag and HTML <img> tags. The use of these is all subject to them being enabled by the administrator. [/b]

It's hopeless, as I even tried to remove/delete the "Which Disneyland are you?" thingie...and obviously have been unsuccessful. S~O~S, dear Techie Pro!!!

Thanks for the link, Loubon~! As for the rest of your post...:teeth:

Yankee FAN here! The Majority of mi Familia resides in N.Y., so I'm a lifer Yankee supporter. Catholic school? You'll feel at home here. DD has been in the presence of the nuns since K-garten, and Mouseteacher directs them on a daily basis in Beantown! Hotflashes?!? That is what occurs whenever I sit and "THINK" about my next trip to WDW & the SWAN/DOLPHIN (LOL)!

splashfamily~I hear you there! DD spent 9 years at the same parochial school prior to her present H.S., and I was also anxiety-ridden. All without cause, as she adapted so easily. I brought her to school today, and came home to find a sweet note on my computer screen from her. It made me break-down and cry like a baby. She is so thoughtful, and wrote such kind, yet prolific things about her life with me/us and the future. She also asked me to call and make an appt. for her to take her driving test a the DMV a week from this Friday. Life is changing so fast around here, I have to have something to GRAB onto...or I feel I'll fall off the shooting star! :p Hope it all works out well w/your DS.

DrmWvr1299~ WELCOME TO OUR THREAD! The Dolphin Breakfast is FABULOUS, and a reasonable price too. The selections are amazing, and the chefs behind the buffet line are extremely friendly and accomodating. Tremendously YUMMY food...it'll tide you all over, and offer LOADS of energy for the commando-style day!

firstmickey...Oh, Donna. Another heart-warmer, with a DS in K-Garten. More and more I contemplate having another child. DD is 2-years from flying the nest...and I'm at a crossroads. Career choices, possible relocations, and SO many other options. I'm also overwhelmed with indecisiveness too (to top it all off!). BTW...I bleed RED & GOLD. Yep...49er fan! (Go NINERS!). Have a great morning, and please stop by and visit us every morning (with a cup of joe/tea) for a daily dose of "vacation & Life perspective!"

madge...you did a GREAT job on the first one, fab photos. What happened with the next post? I would LOVE to see the Halloween picture. Please, try it again.
You had a great view at the Dolphin, on the far East Wing (where my suite sits). I PREFER this view over all others. Thanks for the flash-back. Been home three+ days now...and it feels like I'm STILL THERE!

Well, everyone. I'm off to the countdown link to try and override my current (erroneous) timer. Nothing better than watching the months fall away on these timers.

TTFN...DF99

I just booked the Swan and I am soooo excited!
Just for the simple fact that they give us NURSES a discount! Woohhooo...I've never gotten a discount on anything for being a nurse. :)

I booked a resort view room with a balcony for February at $189 a night plus tax plus an additional $25 for a rollaway bed for the 3rd child! Still, a huge savings over Disney's published rack rate for this resort and a huge savings over the Yacht Club next door! :)
I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait!!!!

DF: Hello and welcome home ! You sound like you are copying and pasting correctly but to the wrong area. Go to your user cp and go to edit options not edit profile. Once you click on edit options go down to avator and select custom avator and plug in your cut in paste where there is a spot for a http address. I hope this makes some since ....

Madge: I received my passes from Paramount they seem to be in order along with the breakfast vouchers... :) They arrived by UPS 2 day air.... :D

Happy Wednesday Everyone !

grrrrrrrr!!!!!

why was I able to post the first pictures without any trouble?

I am at imagestation right now, and when I right click on the picture, I do not get a choice of "properties" to click on. Help!

feel free to PM me so as not to clog up the thread :teeth:

mom poppins yay! that's great news about the passes :) I think we have decided to use them as 7 day PHP instead of trying to upgrade to Annual Passes...in doing the math, I don't think it's going to work. I am going to ask how much the pass is worth as far as an upgrade goes....so, either way, I'll have than infor for you when we get back.

now, off to solve my picture issues, LOL.....

OK, I admit I have been "AWOL" from here for some time, but holy cow, to see so much has gone on!!

I mean, you all started a sorority! FABULOUS!

I feel sort of "duty-bound" to report to you all - since so many of you were instrumental in helping me "find" the S/D - that I had an absolutley FANTASTIC and MAGICAL time (my first!) at the Dolphin in early August. I was on CL, and our room was on the 14th floor right in the center of the "triangle" with a marvelous view that was EXACTLY what I had hoped for.

The staff was wonderful, and I had a chance to meet Thabo, who was working in the CL one evening. I told him he was quite a celebrity, he grinned - so modest! I LOVED the fact that he was logged into the Disboards ... They are truly addictive!

I would like to think I am "back" to my normal self and will hopefully be posting more often (August is supposed to be a s-l-o-w month in my profession - with Congress out and all - but this month has been a real bear!!) Maybe after a few more posts I will qualify to be a charter member of Sigma Delta? And if you all get together for a meet next summer, I will move heaven and earth to be there, HOW COULD I MISS THAT!!!
:)

I am off for now, but I just wanted to say a great big THANKS to posters on this board for the great advice about the hotels, AND the "WARM FUZZY" feeling I get when I stop by!!
Have a great afternoon!
Caitlin

PS - Loubon and Splashfamily - I grew up in Manhasset!! Spent several summers at Port Yacht, I long to be there right now! I agree that LI certainly has changed ... it is so different now than it was when I grew up there. But I do miss the views of the Bay!

For DH:

fb42fa39.jpg

I am in super fast forward mode... just finished making campfire ring in cleaned out flower garden! DH is mowing lawn and the tent city will go up tomorrow for DD's 9th BD camping party!

Still working on logo and charter, sisters and brothers! (Don't give up on me... I will have much more time after Saturday!)

Lou, my inbox is now open. I guess comcast expects you to delete your emails and then empty the trash! oops! So, "ready when you are JB"!

AHHHHH! I can talk hockey! (lol) Yes, Loubon, you may have cujo cuz(sic) we don't want him! TAKE HIM PLEASE! My favorite player is gone, but he wasn't producing anyways (Robitaille from the kings), but now we have Hatcher back in his hometown so I am happy! I watched the kings play the stars down in dallas a few years back. I think I was the only one all in red from head to toe, logoed to death, cheering for two players on opposite sides! (and teaching the guys in front of me what offsides meant so they'd stop booing the refs! LOL). My other favorite team, and closest to my heart is my ds's... he's on the same team as last year per major trading by the coaches, the Flint Jackals. We're between, and an hour from three sheets of ice, so it was roll of the dice where we finally ended up!

Baseball? We have a baseball team? What Tigers? We don't have pro football either.. (what Lions?) Big ten all the way in this house! (mixed marriage though... Michigan state and University of Michigan) We're usually down at the big house for a few games a season.

Great pics DF!

I am compiling a list of must haves on the "item". I think I just might ebay my way to a charm brace.. I mean item, soon!

Found out today that our school calendar is not set in stone. I think Easter week is untouchable. It should be finalized tomorrow! Swan or Dolphin here I come!

Waving to all the new people and everyone else!

Debbie

whew!

it must have been a fluke, but I was able to fix my signature :) it may be there for eternity....but I got that picture in there, gosh darn it!

That is how we dressed (and plan to dress) for the MNSSHP :) matching halloween t-shirts for the kids....I wish Target or Old Navy would hurry up and stock them, don't they know I have to pack soon?

madge ` Cute!

Divamom~ Welcome to our humble thread! Good for you on booking the Swan. We stayed there in late July and I didn't think the magic could get any better after our Dolphin stay last summer, but the Swan out did itself and we had an even more magical stay!

crc6~ Of course, you will be a charter member! :) Now, get that sorority avatar under your name and you're all set!

Disbug~ Yikes! NY Yankees???? symbol? The Yankees are verboten in this house. DSs see them as the evil empire! ;) DSs are such die hard Sox and Patriots fans and, of course, Yankee / Jets haters. Youngest DS is a Miami Dolphins fan, too. Dan Marino was his hero - absolutely adored the man. Older DS is now planning with his friends a trip to Philly to sse the Sox play there next week.
Okay, we'll cut you some slack on planning our logo and charter. Have fun with your party!

hockeymom~ Hope you get that brace....item soon!

madge~ What happened? I lost your picture - see only a red x. :(

I read in a post somewhere that there is a Observation deck at the Swan. Can someone give me some more info on where it is?

We are staying on Club level, is it near there? Thanks!!

Cindy in NY

Goodness, I am gone for the day and there are 3 pages of posts! Welcome to all newcomers, latecomers and beforementioned who came back. You can join the sorority or the honorary little? brothers!
Loubon and ww52....see? Lots of sports talk here! ww52.....yes, Ozzie is actually my yorkie, who is 15 and was named after the best shortstop ever! LOL, about watching Cub games in Aug that actually mean something! Obviously, we are St. Louis fans(live 20 miles from downtown, in Illinois). DH and I are alums of the University of Illinois, but our children are journalism majors at the University of Missouri......they play each other this Sat. in the Edward Jones Dome, downtown St. Louis. Big game for our family. My DS is on the staff of the Missourian, football beat and will be covering the game in the press box! Has to travel with the team the whole season, so he is happy and hoping for a nice Bowl berth. All of us cheer for the RAMS. (I cheer for Mizzou, when they are not playing Illinois)
DF......follow everything that has been posted and put it where mom poppins said!
To copy the avatar and post it, you can also right click on it, click on 'properties', then highlight and copy the URL address. Then paste it into the 'edit profile' space on your user page. You can do the same thing with most pictures and clipart, depending on where you find it and what form it is in. This was the advice I gave to jgates when he had trouble pasting. Remember, if you get just one little thing wrong, or not copied it won't post. Also, you can only put two pictures in your siggie and it must be 200 pixels. There are codes to fix anything, let me know what you need.
madge.......did you get your pic posted that you wanted? Be sure the cursor is over the pic and you can even highlight the pic to be sure, then right click. Sometimes if you just do it again, it works.

Cute kids, Madge! The picture works! I am sure the Halloween stuff will be in the store in the next few weeks. Halloween seems to be showing up earlier and earlier every year.

Observation deck.... I didn't know either! Anyone? I know my view was gorgeous, though!

Ozzie>> quite the sports family you have there! You must just be running in circles on some days!

Great advice from ozzie. Always double and triple check what you actually cut and past. One thing wrong and you're looking at code or nothing at all!

Sorority wave,
Debbie

thanks!

some sort of cosmic phenomenon was happening this afternoon....I was doing everything EXACTLY as I was told (with the pictures) and I couldn't get a properties tab to click on to save my life! Then, all of a sudden...there it was, not a clue what I did differently, but I clicked and ran :::whew:::

how do I make it smaller?
