Is it possible to negotiate with Disney on the purchase price or is it non-negotiable?

If someone negotiates successfully, alot of us would like to know how!
I tried very very hard. The answer is that Disney will sell only at the same price offerred to all.

I tried real hard back in '92. I was still remembering the two timeshare presentations I had been through the year before in St Maarten. The only things that we found negotiable were wether me or my wife signed first and the flavor of ice cream from the sunday making area.
I signed first and had chocolate.

Can you imagine if they did any negotiating- when the result was posted on the internet? It would suddenly lower the price to that level...and so on.
The same thing already happens whenever something special is done for someone and is reported here, it is then expected all the time.
What's funny about this topic and the responses is that I have seen people get blasted (and have been myself) for bringing up complaints about certain rules and policies of DVC. The "blaster" typically says something like, "Did you sign the contract?" and implies that we should have worked out our differences of opinion before we signed. Pretty funny when we all know there's no negotiating to speak of and if we want to be a part of "the family" we will sign and then just voice our impotent complaints here. Maybe he had better luck with his "negotiations" than the rest of us. Or maybe he just really agreed with all aspects of the contract. You're right, Audrey. In any contract situation the options are to accept it as is, negotiate a change to your liking or walk away from the deal. DVC is no different. The time to raise those issues is before signing the agreement. We, all too often, accept something and then decide unilaterally, that we don't really like it and make "changes" to suit our own situation.
If there are policies which someone can't agree to and abide by, they probably shouldn't sign the agreement!
Bingo, Swampfox. If you don't like the contract and they're not willing to change it for you (they're not), then don't sign it.
