Which is the better beach excursion? Atlantis or Blue Lagoon?

Search the boards and you will find a lot of reviews on the two. I am looking into this question for next year.

Is Blue Lagoon better than the beach at Atlantis? We aren't doing the sea lion or dolphin encounters. Just a day at the beach.

We did blue lagoon. But with an encounter...beach is ok but just FYI boat ride is 1/2 hour, so Atlantis will give you more beach time.

I know you didn't ask but a lot of the hotels and resorts offer day passes where you can enjoy the beach and pools.
