The 32nd race of the 2014 season is the "GEICO 500" at Talladega SuperSpeedway on SUNDAY, October 19th.
The countdown is down to 5 for the cup chase. This race is an elimination race in the new NASCAR format. The top 8 will survive to continue the quest for the championship.
Qualifying is set for SATURDAY, October 18th. Please make your picks before qualifying is scheduled to begin.
Talladega SuperSpeedway is an oval track with a lap distance of 2.66 miles. 188 circuits of this super speeday will equal to 500 miles of elimination racing.
#88 JR!! & #24 J Gordon share most wins honors. They have each won 5 times at "Dega.

The May, 2014 race was won by #11 D Hamlin
In 2013, D Ragan and J McMurray took home the victories.
In 2012, Hothead #2 B Kezelowski and #20 M Kenseth grabbed the checkered flags.
In 2011, #48 J Johnson & #15 C Bowyer sat atop the leader boards.
In 2010, #4 K Harvick and #15 C Bowyer took the trips to Victory Lane.

A lot happening in the chase. #88 and #48 need HUGE races to keep their hopes alive. After race shenanigans by the #2 put a target on his back (IMO) and I think dashed his hopes.
HOWEVER!!! That is what strategizing I'm doing...and so...wihout further adieu...my "Dega picks:
J Logano <~~ Just because he's assured mathematically to advance past "Dega doesn't mean he can lay low...cuz...he's got my next pick breathing down his neck...
K Harvick <~~~ I said his cars have been dominant the last few races....and...Charlotte showed how dominant...his team has it going on!
J Gordon <~~~ He's hanging in there and NOT going away....look for a big effort here...
JR!!! <~~~ There is no quit i this kid...
Kyle Busch <~~ My hunch of the week...and...quite possibly...the season...
My spare will be #2 B Kezelowski....I picked him as a spare so I could say...I do believe he'll ge a "DNF" as payback for Charlotte...he P O's one two or three too many...bye bye dude...
