The first race of the Chase!
The 27th race this season, the "GEICO 400" will be held at the Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday, September 16th.
Qualifying is set for SATURDAY, September 15th.
Please make your picks before qulifying is scheduled to begin.
Chicagoland Speedway is a tri-oval track with a lap distance of 1.50 miles. 267 laps of exciting NASCAR racing will be held for a total race distance of 401 miles.
#14 T Stewart has the most wins here since 1975 wth 3 victories.
Other history:
In 9/11, #17 M Kenseth sat on the pole in a race won by #14 T Stewart.
In 7/10, #1 J McMurray had the fastest qualifying time and we watched #00 D Reutimann cross the start-finish line ahead of everyone.
In 7/09, today's 2 #55's shared track honors wit Brian Vickers winning the pole position and Mark Martin winning the whole shebang.
In 7/08, #18 Kyle Busch went wire to wire for the win.
OK! Not much to go on as the race for the chase starts.
NASCAR only holds one race per year here so...it's time to start strategizin'!

T Stewart <~~~ He regained his focus at Richmond...and...he does do well here...
D Hamlin <~~~ Some say he's one of the best 1 & 1/2 mile racers out there....
Kyle Busch <~~~~ SPOILER ALERT!! Out of the chase by 3 points...he's gonna gve someone a comeuppance...
J Johnson <~~~ A NASCAR "Mr October" in September...
JR!! <~~~~ 2012 is his year....
My spare will be G Biffle....I couldn't squeeze him in!
