We start the final 3rd of the 2012 season at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the "AdvoCare 500".
This race will be held on SUNDAY, September 2nd.
Qualifying is set for FRIDAY. August 31st. Please make your picks before qualifying is scheduled to begin.
Atlanta Motor Speedway is a quad-oval track with a lap distance of 1.54 miles. 325 laps will be seen for a total race distance of 501 miles.
#3 D Earnhardt has 9 victories here for the most wins since 1975.
Other history:
Until last year, NASCAR visited this race track twice a year. The March race was eliminated and now, there is only the race in September.
In 9/11. #5 K Kahne had pole honors in a race won by #24 J Gordon.
In 3/10, #88 JR! was out in front at the start but #51 Kurt Busch was out in front at the end.,
In 9/10, #11 D Hamlin turned in the fastest qualifying time and #14 T Stewart took home the checkered flag.
In 3/09, #56 M Truex was first behinfd the pace car but #5 K Kahe was first to cross the start-finish line.
In 9/09, #55 M Martin was on the ple an a race #51 Kurt Buch won.
#18 Kyle Bsch won the March 2008 race and #99 C Edwards won the eptember race that same year.
