Mythos- Worth It?

We will have one day at both parks. I think we will start at IOA and then do US second. We will do Spiderman, Hulk, DD, probably one water ride, a few tiny things at Seuss. We plan to be there at rope drop, so might be able to do these by 1100.

Ive heard alot about Mythos--worth it to fit it in after these rides, and stop for a sit down lunch? The list of things to do at US is longer and we definitely only have the one day. I did get the Express Pass (were going on Tues 11/16), so that will help.

Or just do a lighter lunch?

So worth it, one of the best places to eat in ANY of the parks :thumbsup2

Worth every penny.Do it you won't be dissapointed!!:thumbsup2 Just like my tag says.

If I manage to pull off my trip this December, Mythos will be one place I hit. The other is Emeril's restaurant.

If you decide to skip Mythos, though, I vote for the couter service place in Jurassic Park (Roaring Forks, or something like that). It was the best CS I've had at any park, including the Flame Tree at AK or the Moroccan place at Epcot.

Its called Thunder Falls>>Excellent CS food!!:thumbsup2

Another vote here for Mythos. Its the one place we always go when at Universal. Went this August/September and waited 5 minutes for a table. Seemed quite busy inside but the service was quick. Clean too from the front desk to the seating and the toilet area. I like watching the cooks in the kitchen when waiting for my meal. Only thing i found strange was the huge lump of ice that the prawn cocktail came in - kinda what i get out of my freezer during defrost! But very tasty as was the flatbread starter. Very friendly waitress and most of the servers were smiling.

If you have time try to squeeze it in. It is really a unique dining experience.

One word. Yes!:thumbsup2 Besides, I would rather pay couple extra bucks for a nice sit down dinner than have another hamburger.

Glad to see so many people are saying to go here. I've been on the fence about it myself, but now I'll definitely go.

Do you need to make reservations in adavance? If so, how far in advance can you make them? I'm staying at the Hard Rock.

When we have gone, we either walked up or stopped by in the morning and made a reservation for the afternoon. I haven't tried anything earlier than that.

Mythos generally closes around 3ish when the parks close early.

it has stayed open later though, but plan in advance for an afternoon meal.

if you want peace of mind, make the ressie in advance.
either call a few weeks out, make the ressie at the kiosk booth in city walk, have concierge at hrh lobby make it for you, or just walk in.

Theme Park Insider.com has voted Mythos Restaurant as the “Best Theme Park Restaurant” for an impressive sixth straight year.

there have been some posters state the place has the a/c up too high and were cold while dining there.
i have not had that happen to me but i think this happens a more in the summer time.

if for any reason you are not satisfied with the food or service, ask to speak to a manager while you are eating.

it will be corrected immediately.

i only mention that as there was a post that was negative about a few months back. when a post like that happens, we usually get new threads about, "should we try that place"..

Mythos is known for it's high quality of food and service.

inquire about the special of the day.
most times, it is not listed on the menu.

You are not allowed to go to IOA without eating at Mythos, if you try this, CMs will emerge at the exit and escort you back and seat you at your dining table at Mythos, just kidding, but definitely worth it, its a must do, do not miss situation.

We had heard all the hype and ate at Mythos for the first time this past August. We found it the best theme park restaurant experience we have had bar none, and indeed more than competitive with the CityWalk restaurants.

We plan to have Thanksgiving dinner there this year -- which I don't do lightly! Well worth it to stop and relax, and it will make your overall day more enjoyable.

I highly recommend the Risotto of the Day!

Yes last time I was there they had scallops risotto, awesome, thanksgiving at Mythos, hmmm, never thought of that good idea. Are they going to do some creative things with a turkey?

I don't know if there will be any sort of a "special" menu, the regular fare is delicious enough for us! :) If anyone knows...enquiring minds and all!
