mythos bad now?

What on earth is that potato Robbie!

Not the most appetising dish I ever saw.........

I hate risotto too.......never got the taste for it.......but I would agree, we need that pork chop back on the menu! That is a lush dish!

I believe they called them burgundy mashed potatoes? I'm surprised they lasted on the menu as long as they did. No one I knew ate them lol

We went on Monday and loved it! Great service, nice theming, and the food was very decent.

Er, yeah.......never saw that before.......they don't look burgundy either!!! Lol........

Hope they don't bring them back.........

Hope the OP will come back and tell us whether they went or not and if they enjoyed it?

Schumi - you might like my recipe: risotto rice cooked in chicken stock (not broth) with some shallots, then I add chopped roasted red pepper and good parmesan cheese, and then stir in some shredded chicken at the very end - we eat it like a main course - really good.

Lol.....thanks for that, but I don't like rice at all, allergic to shallots or any onion and hate Parmesan cheese......I do love chicken and red pepper though ::yes::

Think the only rice I eat is sushi rice........wish I did like risotto though........

Lol, I'd starve to death if I were allergic to onions. I put them in everything but cereal.

:thumbsup2

I was exactly the same!! My husband used to challenge me to try cook one meal without onions........couldn't do it......lol........it's been a year now and I still miss them.......but don't miss the reaction to them

You should see me eyeing up people's onion rings in restaurants.......:rotfl:

Here, for the onion-ally challenged, a possible solution:

"Asafoetida (also known as giant fennel or hing) is also sometimes used as a substitute for garlic in cooking. It is used in Indian and Middle eastern cooking and you are most likely to find it in powdered form in specialist stores or on-line. Unfortunately it has quite an unpleasant smell in its uncooked form (one of the common names for asafoetida is "devil's dung") so it should be kept in a well-sealed jar or container. However, this smell disappears on cooking and leaves a flavour which is said to be similar to sauteed onion or garlic."

Not convinced it would be worth the effort :crazy2:

It's not worth the effort :sad2:.......I tried it......it's like a powder and it is very pungent........but, on cooking they promise the smell dissipates.........it doesn't! Much as I love onions......I dumped the 5  jars I bought of this stuff..........thought I would love it.......it was almost like a rancid onion taste........we can get it in all grocery stores easily over here.....but I'll pass on it........give me a real onion anyday........I can have onion seasonings which is not the same but it works.........

I'm glad you get it......I've had so many people say.....oh it's just onions.....no big deal.......well,it was.......

Devils dung is an appropriate name........:rotfl:never heard that one before..........

Ate there last week, best meal we had inside the parks. Food was excellent, nice atmosphere and wait staff was courteous and attentive.

We've eaten there about a dozen times over the past 7 years and have only had one bad experience...our last meal was this past July and plan on going this July.

We ate at Mythos for the first time in October. While it was fine, it certainly didn't live up to our experiences at Confisco Grille or Finnegan's.

The decor was probably our favourite aspect of the meal, though the lamb meatballs on the falafel waffle were really good.

Service was just....meh.

Hey Schumigirl, you sound like me! I hate risotto and am allergic to onions also And I despise Parmesan cheese. My husband and I call it "stinky feet cheese".

I found my food twin!!!

Folks think I'm crazy when I say those things..........especially the onion bit!!! I adored onions as well .......but Parmesan cheese..........bleurgh!! Stinky feet cheese is a very kind description of it........:rotfl:horrible stuff!

I know, I don't get it. When I tell people I'm allergic to onions they say "you can't be". Now why would I make that up???

Lol.......yeah if I was going to make something up I'd come up with something more exotic than an onion/garlic allergy! Not very interesting!

I don't have a jealous bone in my body........but I do envy people eating coleslaw and onion rings.......simple things like that.......it's a sad sight to see me surreptitiously eyeing other folks onions.........:D

I'm disappointed to hear people had such bad experiences here, as I honestly think Mythos was one of our favorite dining experiences during our entire Orlando stay. We stopped in for a lunch in September... I fell in love with the Mythos Signature Burger, and I can't say enough good things about the service. We had on honeymoon pins and the server even gave us a couple of their shot glass desserts for free. Again, I don't know what it might have been like at a busier time, but our experience was fantastic. I think it's definitely worth a try, but take my opinion with a grain of salt since I've only been there once.
