She just called and told me that even after the 17th (tomorrow) it will be only available to disney visa holders. This makes no sense, when free dining ws released it was to visa holders first three days later it was for GP. I told her about this and she got mad at me and said she was calling her Rep. Why does something have to be so aggrivating. If this was her wouldn't she want to save $$. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

She gave you an attitude for quoting deal history? Wow . . . my TA back in MA would have been happy I was giving her a tip on what she could look for in the future!

There are good TA, bad TA and VERY bad TA. I too have a VERY bad TA.

Why are you settling for a bad (or even mediocre) TA? And, for the OP, why are you putting up with an attitude from your TA?

Why is it that she seems clueless about her job. Her title is a Disney Specialist, I wonder if all she has to do it determine the differnece between mickey and minnie to get her certificate. I have learned things aboout WDW with the DIs that she had no clue about. So does this make any sense about the Disney sale?

My email from Disney visa said it was open to Disney Visa first then would be available to the General Public on the 17th- so to hurry and book!

Hope this helps

Don't be too mad at her, the Disney CM told me the same thing this morning. I was very worried until I read the last post about the Visa e-mail. Good luck!

I've been having issues with the TA too. Last week, she told me that I should make sure I finalize my plans before asking her to make chages (I added a few days here and there since I booked in Jan).

Then, I sent her an email stating that if there was availabilty under the discount and it would save me more than the AAA I wanted it (and would even switch resorts). I stated that I knew the package wasn't available to the general public until 08/17 (if it did become available) but she emailed me back saying she spoke to WDW and I couldn't get the discount since I don't have the visa.

After again explaining that I knew I couldn't get the discount today, she said she would let me know tomorrow. I wish I could have just booked myself, but I wanted the AAA discount.

Good luck to you!

I use Dreams Unlimited, agent Kelsie Johnson, and she handles everything for me, which is great! She does the AAA if you have one, AP, Disney Visa, General Public.......... She also will make your Advanced Dining Reservations. I have used dreams for a few years and am extremely happy, might give them a try if you don't like your current TA (am assuming it is a TA with AAA) And I am one who makes several changes, due to my husband's work schedule so she also does all of those with no complaints! :rolleyes1

You don't need her to get the AAA discount. I have used The Magic For Less and found the best TA ever! She got me a AAA discount then switched it to an AP discount when it came out. I switched dates, cancelled, rebooked, you name it. She was great about everything. I will only use TMFL to book a Disney Trip.

1) Just because a code is offered to Disney Visa members does NOT automatically mean it will be released to the public. It's really, really prudent to keep in mind the fact that these are all optional discounts, and none of them are garunteed in any way.

2) It sounds like you don't have a TA who is a Disney specialist. Either find one that is (there are many that are devoted exclusively to Disney), or just book it yourself. There is nothing a TA can do with Disney that you can't do yourself, probably better, except they get to call an 800# instead.

There are no discounts (AAA, AP, or otherwise) that you cannot book yourself.

Good luck to everyone, I hope you get what you are looking for!

i thought that we can get an AAA rate on our room only reservation without using a TA, but to get an AAA package rate, you must use an AAA travel agent?

You can't get the AAA discount with this new discount anyway, so you don't have to use her at all if you are using this new discount. No double dipping - either AAA *or* the new discount, whichever is better for you :goodvibes

And here is my email from Disney Visa, indicating that the Disney Visa is ONLY required if you book before the 17th. Give that TA the old shove off ;) BTW my AAA TA isn't the brightest either, but I wanted a AAA package so I just dealt with their COMPLETE cluelessness :rolleyes1
