I'm gonna try this again and hopefully my PJ is in the right spot this time. :)

Hello everyone My name is Melissa and I am planning a Disney fairytale wishes wedding for May 2013. Yes its a while from now but from what everyone else has said it is never too early to start planning. Let me start from the beginning. First of all my fiance is amazing. We have only been dating for a short amount of time but I have known him for four years and he is my best friend. He has stayed by me for so long and has always tried dating me but I would always say no. Finally after a while I decided to see what happens and it was the best decision I have ever made. A short five months later while he was doing his college program at Disney he proposed to me at Cinderella's castle! One of the best days of my life and I will never forget it. We are huge Disney fans and knew from the beginning that a Disney wedding would be perfect for us. I was reluctant because I knew that a fairytale wedding could be very expensive but thanks to fellow DISboards I've come to realize I can have my wedding at Disney and stick to the minimum costs and still have an amazing wedding. We are looking at only having about 30 or 40 guests so I know we can make it happen. I was hoping it wasnt too early to call the Disney crew but they told me it was too early to be pencilled in for my date I want. We have chosen May 2013 because I have been accepted into nursing school and will be done that May so we would like to get married right after I graduate. I have seen so many Disney ideas and would like any advice for planning a wishes wedding and any cool ideas people have come up with. I have already started planning some things but it is very little. So much more to think of I'm excited to be part of the Disboards and look forward to talking to fellow Disney Fairytale Brides!!

I have decided I definitely want my ceremony to be at the wedding pavilion. I probably will only have about 30 guests which seems like such a big place for a small wedding but I love the Pavilion and thats where I want it to take place. After seeing the pictures I just knew it was the right place. I am planing on having it in the morning and then a lunch reception. Trying to keep the costs down as much as I can. :)

I would like the have the reception at Living Seas but I have seen good and bad comments about it so I"m not really sure. Any one had any experences about it??? I mostly love it because of the fish tank and the colors they have are dark blue and that is the color I wanted. I want it to look like it is night time and make it romantic with the dark blue and have candles and such. That is the furthest I have gotten with my wedding plans for that. :rotfl: I feel like I have so much more to do!

Later on that night I want to have a dessert party and watch Wishes. Right after my fiance Emilio proposed to me we ran out so we wouldnt miss the fireworks and got to watch wishes right in front of the castle. It was amazing. I dont think I will ever forget it. Does anyone know where you can have a dessert party and able to watch wishes??

I am so excited to have my Disney wedding :bride: and thanks everyone for all their help!! Can't wait to call Disney and get my date but got a while to wait. I have gone to some places and have looked at a few dresses since I have never put on a wedding dress before and no clue what I would even like and the lady at the boutique gave me a crazy look for me even going so early since its not till May 2013 but I dont think it is ever too early to look.

Soon when I can I will post photos of us and our engagement. If I can figure is out. :rotfl:

The Wedding Pavilion looks great with 10 guests or 200! Morning would look so great.

We are doing a dessert party at the Grand Floridian Marina right after our Reception at the Ballroom. The wishes fireworks look great near the Marina. Read my PJ for our ideas...

Also, like the above post, read Carrie's passporters book. It's AWESOME. Also, she has an updated e-book and podcast (Inside Disney Weddings). It gives SOOOOOO much inspiration and energy! Heather and I listen to them daily, some multiple times over for newer ideas.

Good luck! Can't wait to read more!!!

How do you get a ticker??

How do you get a ticker??

I am planning on going to the open house on August 28! Very excited!! Does anyone know what takes place at the Open House?

We were at the Wedding Showcase this past March. It was a little more involved since it was a three day event, however the Open house really will get your juices flowing with excitement.

Basically you are in Francks Studio, get to talk to a few consultants (possibly planners), get ideas and inspiration and you could even start your process if you are within the timeframe. It's a very exciting time and you get to see first hand the WP, the environment and the people involved.

Also, to get a ticker.. the best thing to do is visit: http://www.distickers.com/

Once there, click on the link for the type of ticker... in this case, DisEvents
step1.png

Select a background ticker ...
step2.png

Then choose a slider ...
step3.png

Put the text in accordingly ...
step4.png

The output it gives you is code for your signature... use the BBCode one (second one). Copy that entire text inside the box.
step5.png

Then go to your profile on Disboards ... Click on Private Messages, it's easier to get there...
step6.png

Click on Edit Signature from the left side ....
step7.png

Paste the code in the box, add additional information if needed ...
step8.png

Save, and all done!

There are plenty of other ticker sites out there... all done the same basically. Another site people like is http://www.mickeypath.com/. They have Disney name badges and other styles.

Have fun!

Thanks for the help with the tickers. I dont have enough posts yet to add one but soon I will have mine.

I am getting really stressed about costs for this wedding. I have looked at some BEO and some are really high. I'm hoping I can keep it close to the minimum and still have some things I want. I would really love to have MIckey and Minnie if possible. :)

Yeah I wish planning was that easy. I think I read the date wrong I am not sure if there is an open house in August. Does anyone know??

Hello and welcome! I am so excited to read you PJ. I am also in nursing school (though I am not engaged ... maybe someday ... and I will also have the perfect Disney dream wedding ... though I am thinking Disneyland ... for now I will live vicariously through yours and all the other wonderful brides PJ's!) I look forward to following ya!

Well I just called DFTW and sadly I have to wait till November to call back to set up a site visit but then in December I can be pencilled in for my date! So excited. Planning on going to Disney in December for the site visit since I'm in school. Cant wait to see everything! :)

Has anyone had their reception at the living seas for only 30 people??

I have finally figured out how to put pics. Sorry if they are too big. This is right before he proposed!!
