YAY for Chick Fil A! You HAVE to try the chicken minis that are served at breakfast (a chicken nugget on a roll, comes in a pack of 3 or 4) it. is. to. die. for. And we can't figure out why they aren't available all day rather than just breakfast because its like the most popular item on the menu. And j'adore the new asian chicken (fried nuggets) salad now too. I could go on about more menu items but will wait until you move and are 1.5 miles from the place so that your mouth doesn't water too much reading this.
We have new dates in August: the 6-8 at AKLI'll be in touch! Can't wait and safe travels to you!!!
I need to go for breakfast now! Those chicken minis sounds amazing. Thank GOD I have one 1.5 miles away from moi.

July 30th and 31st: Pre-Florida ridiculousness
July 30th was awful. It was like one thing after another. First we had to bring Figaro to the vet to put him down. He had diabetes for about 2-3 years and he wouldnt survive the drive to FL. He barely survived to the vet, which was 25 minutes away. 22 hours would give the poor cat a heart attack, and we didnt want that. So that morning we brought him and they put him down, so I was just a wreck for the remainder of the day, and I am still sad about it now. It is just hard getting used to.
After that, we went and got lunch and had to pick up some blinds for the house, since I may or may not have ripped them. We went home and packed up the computer and TV and all of that fun stuff.
We were having two guys come help us pack the truck at I think 2, but they were late and didnt come until 3, but we had more time to get last minute things done. So they came and looked at the truck and looked at the furniture.
Everything is not fitting in that truck.
Like five people told us A 17 ft truck would be fine!
And online said that too.
HAHAHAHAHHAH no.
They kept telling us that we would probably need to pull a trailer, which would cost like $500 and its not like we could go and get a new truck. It couldnt happen.
So they started loading it, and we still had a lot of stuff to go. Big boxes, furniture It was awful sitting there looking at the truck thinking OMG WHY.
3 hours later.
Nothing was left in the house and that truck was FILLED. It was ridiculous how full that truck was. You could barely shut the door because it was filled right to the edge. BUT THANK GOD.
During all of this, Mum got a phone call from a good friend of ours, and their mom had died.
So after our friends came and picked up the keys (we were NOT driving that puppy), we headed over to see them and it was good, because we were still there for support. Mums friend was really worried that we would have already left before that happened. So we were there till 11. And I was tired and sad because of Figaro. That day was just a disaster.
And on top of that we had to sleep on the floor because we had no furniture. Fun times, my friends.
So I woke up the next morning feeling like I was 95 years old. The joy.
Mum woke up at 5:30, and moi 7:30. And then we went to town on getting the house cleaned, got everything together that we would need for the drive and the few things that would just not fit in the truck, which didnt even fit in our car. At all. Now, we have a Scion. Its small. Like, really small. Not Smart Car small, but small. You guys get the point, or I at least hope yall do. So we had the car filled TO THE TOP with just stuff. Its a good thing that we have a friend that lives in our old townIT FEELS SO GOOD TO SAY THATand she was just gonna pick all of our crap up later. We had to leave behind our vacuum, office chair, lamps, pillows, Mums comforter, and a bunch of other junk that we needed to buy once again. And our car was legit filled to the top and we couldnt see out of the back window AT ALL. That was fun, to say the least.
We were on the road by 10, much later than we intended but we had a bunch of crap to do and plus we got home so late.
The ride was very uneventful. I had a cat on moi for the whole entire drive. Meeko was actually really good, to be honest. She slept for most of the ride, which was good, but I had NO room. She really wouldnt eat though when we stopped, but had some turkey and roast beef after. She is spoiled.
Some highlights of the trip to North Carolina:
1. Our GPS was being such a pain and was so focused on going over the George Washington.
2. We dumped cat litter and laundry detergent all over a rest stop parking lot. Some guy told us to go inside and ask for a broom. Why ?
3. WE HAD EARL OF SANDWICH for dinner. Moi was happy. And Meeko. The sandwiches were food porn worthy but I couldnt reach my camera because I had a cat on moi. Good times.
4. We saw a truck full of pigs. Mum claimed that they were going on a field trip. Moi: Yeah, to a slaughter house.
And that is like it. We got to the hotel in North Carolina at almost 11 and we got like no sleep because of Meeko. She meowed ALL NIGHT. And she still is. Mum looked it up on the computer (she has also been peeing on the bathroom rugs) and it says that the cat is stressed.

August 1-3rd: GETTING TO FL and stupid ice cream
We got up at 7:45 and got ready. We went down for breakfast and it was good. Not chocolate croissant good, but good.
Before we headed out, we went to the business center to see if Mums money from her old job got deposited into her bank account (which we were using to buy our house) and THANK GOD IT WAS IN THERE.
We were on the road a little before 10 and that drive felt like it lasted FOREVER. Driving through South Carolina is awful. And all you have leading up to SC is signs for South of the Border, which we did NOT stop at. I was pretty upset about that, because I just love it there. So much to do!
We stopped for lunch at Chick Fil A in Georgia and I tried to give some chicken to Meeko. But she would only eat the whipped cream from our shakes. I was like WHAT THE CRAP?! Now, that cat eats everything. Her favorite is spaghetti sauce, which sounds ridiculous. I was just SHOCKED she wouldnt eat the chicken. We arent talking anymore.
We got into Florida at almost 6, and Meeko was DONE. She kept meowing and getting antsy, and I was just like her. I WANTED OUT.
We got to our hotel, which was Extended Stay once again, because we were not sleeping on the floor in our new place. I didnt want to feel like a great grandmother again.
We got there at about 8:30 and this time around, we were in a non smoking room with a king bed. THANK GOD.
I spent the night reading my summer reading book that I waited till the last minute to get, cause thats what I do. So I spent the night reading that and being very proud of Meeko because she ate a ton. AND POOPED! Im sure yall wanted to know that.
We went to bed at 10ish and of course, some little cat meowed for the whole night.
August 2nd
My notes end like right here, so bear with moi until we actually get to Disney. These few days are SUCH a blur for moi.
We got up at about 7:30 and got ready.
We headed to TD Bank to wire the money for our house. So after like 5 minutes, WE (well Mum ) BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!!
We headed back to the hotel and got everything together to head over to our new place. Our realtor was leaving the keys for us and they were there so we headed in! YAY!
I felt so bad for Meeko. She explored the house for a while and then hid in her cage. ):
We had a bunch of errands to do so we did that before our friends arrived with the truck. It took us about 3 hours to unload everything and I had to clean up nail polish during all of this because one of our friends spilled a drawer (that was Mums) PACKED FULL of nail polish. In a plastic container. Mum is a hoarder. Thats all.
We got everything into the house and then ordered some pizza. And Mum and I thought that our friends were staying over but they went to a hotel ? You will see that they are weird. In like a minute.
We set up some furniture before going to bed and unpacked like two boxes.
August 3rd
We had to drop the uhaul off by 10am, and it was right down the road, so we headed there and then picked up our friends and then went back to the house for a little while before going to Downtown Disney.
Yes, Downtown Disney. Im sure yall are like um what the crap are they going there for?!
Let the ranting begin!
So our friends were supposed to leave on Thursday, and then get to FL on Saturday morning and we would bring them to the airport that night. That was the original plan. They were really upset that they couldnt get a flight home on Sunday because they really wanted to go to Ghirardelli because they wanted a sundae. Even though they are coming back in September. So they left a day early for ice cream. ICE CREAM. We have messed up friends and family, seriously. So we had to bring them to DTD for a crappin sundae. And then to the airport and then drive all the way back to where we live. It was ridiculous to say the least.
So we got on I-4 and drove until we got to the DTD exit, which is 35 minutes away. Like, exactly. HEAVEN ON EARTH, DUDES.
WAZZUP DISNEY WORLD?!
If you have been living under a rock, they have closed 2 or 3 parking lots at DTD for the parking garages for Disney Springs, which I am not that thrilled about, but whatever. Same goes with Avatarland, but we arent getting into that at the moment.
Lets just say that parking at DTD is AWFUL. We can usually get a spot fairly quickly, but 95% of the time, we have to drive around for like 15 minutes. THANK GOD they are putting parking garages in. They really need them.
We found a spot like right up front, which I was shocked about. I mean someone just left, but still. They took SO much parking away there. And they are just standing around with clipboards at the moment. And it looks like they are using one of the parking lots for Disney bus parking. Like WHY.
So we found our spot and headed into World of Disney, because we had time. And then I SAW HAUNTED MANSION MERCH THAT WASNT THERE BEFORE AND I FLIPPED OUT.
Of course, moi had no money.

Idk what I ordered, but it was GOOD.

August 4th (part 1): That one time that I died because of REASONS
We got up at about 7:30 and got ready because we were having the cable/phone/internet company come over to hook everything up. A dude came over, got everything all set, and then the TV just went. The sound was still on, but no image. I thought that I pressed something, but there was actually a surge and the TV just blew. So we had to buy a new one. Our hair dryer also blew. At Bay Lake Tower.
Florida hates us so much.
At about 12, we headed BACK to DISNEY WORLD!
THE CLOUDS OF DOOM.
Yeah, it started raining RIGHT when we got to BLT. Mum let me out at the front with our luggage and she went to go park the car. While she was doing that, I chatted away with a CM that lived 30 minutes from where we lived in MA. I think I impressed him with my knowledge of Disney. Mind = blown.
After Mum parked the car, new CM friend lead us inside to check in.
IT SMELLS SO GOOD IN THERE.
The CM we had that checked us in was so nice.
He told us our room wasnt ready yet, but then all of a sudden, it was! Works for moi.
We booked a lake view because it was less points, but the CM told us that we have a view of the lake, BUT, if we leaned over a little, we would have a view of the MAGIC KINGDOM.
So I pretty much died. And we werent even in the room yet.
We got our KTTW cards and then headed up to the room, which was on the 10th floor.
Then I died. For the 500000th time already.
I basically pushed Mum over to get to the balcony to see our view.
Now, the CM said that you might have to lean over a little to see MK. THE LIES. You walked right out and UM THERE WAS THE MAGIC KINGDOM AND THE LAKE BUT WHO GIVES A CRAP ABOUT THE LAKE WHEN YOU HAVE THE MAGIC KINGDOM RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU.
THE LAKE BUT WHO CARES.
I was like hyperventilating because OF REASONS THAT ARE PRETTY OBVIOUS so I went inside to take pics of the room, cause I guess the room is kind of important.
The bathroom, and I think we had a handicap bathroom because there were two showers and one you could just walk right in and there was a stool to sit on.
The other shower.
Our kitchenette, which didnt have a lot of counter space. Like, at all.
After I took those, I ran back to the balcony so I could die more. I WAS IN AWE.

After Mum parked the car, new CM friend lead us inside to check in.
IT SMELLS SO GOOD IN THERE.
The CM we had that checked us in was so nice.
He told us our room wasnt ready yet, but then all of a sudden, it was! Works for moi.
We booked a lake view because it was less points, but the CM told us that we have a view of the lake, BUT, if we leaned over a little, we would have a view of the MAGIC KINGDOM.
So I pretty much died. And we werent even in the room yet.
We got our KTTW cards and then headed up to the room, which was on the 10th floor.
Then I died. For the 500000th time already.
I basically pushed Mum over to get to the balcony to see our view.
Now, the CM said that you might have to lean over a little to see MK. THE LIES. You walked right out and UM THERE WAS THE MAGIC KINGDOM AND THE LAKE BUT WHO GIVES A CRAP ABOUT THE LAKE WHEN YOU HAVE THE MAGIC KINGDOM RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU.
THE LAKE BUT WHO CARES.
I was like hyperventilating because OF REASONS THAT ARE PRETTY OBVIOUS so I went inside to take pics of the room, cause I guess the room is kind of important.
The bathroom, and I think we had a handicap bathroom because there were two showers and one you could just walk right in and there was a stool to sit on.
The other shower.
Our kitchenette, which didnt have a lot of counter space. Like, at all.
After I took those, I ran back to the balcony so I could die more. I WAS IN AWE.
Yall are gonna get way too much MK VIEW spam that it will be ridiculous and it might cause you to want to kill moi/have way too many feels. Youre welcome.

That is NOT a nice sight behind the purple gates. Precisely the reason why I booked a lake view. Good chances of an awesome view (either MK or I WILL NOT be complaining if its the pool) and less points. 10TH FLOOR DOE >>>>>

It was really nice of your friends to drive your truck for you all the way to Florida and to help you move! I would have taken them to get as much Ice Cream as they wanted with out calling them names or being grumpy about it. It seems to me they really really went out of their way for you.
I love following your reports and am excited to read this one about your new life in Florida. I just wish you weren't so negative in them especially about people who help you and do nice things for you!

Wonder if your friends just got the thought of Ghirardelli ice cream in their heads and didn't quite realize the big deal it had become. I've done that where in the moment it seems reasonable but then afterward you are like "why was that such a big deal?" Oh well, you got your stuff down there and now feelings and reasons and what not

You got that right.
The pool at BLT is awesome (we didn't go in but it looks really cool) so that view would be just as good.
I got so many pics of monorails and disney buses together because of THAT VIEW.
Obviously, we appreciate their help very much. But, I personally would not add on extra time to get a sundae. If they were going to the parks or something, that would be another story, but it is just ice cream. And they are going to be back in September. That is just me and my opinion.

Yeah, I would have rathered more of a lake view
I think they had their minds set on that and didn't realize that we just moved 1200 miles away and just wanted to get settled in. It was a little ridiculous.
That last sentence is awesome.

August 4th (part 2): Lunch time and MK
After I came back to Earth (I was in Heaven, lets be real now), we headed over to the Contemporary to get some lunch.

We got lunch here.
Mum and I both got burgers and they were really good. They really werent your average Disney burgers! I would recommend getting them here.
Of course, we got dessert, because um lets be real now.
We split the birthday cake cupcake and holy crap, that thing was GOOD. And it came with a ring that Mum wore for the remainder of the day. (There is also one with Minnie).
And let me tell you, IT WAS PACKED IN THERE. And SO many people had Magic Bands. The Contemporary was one of the 4 resorts that were in testing, along with Pop, the Yacht Club, and one other that I cannot think of. It might have been one of the All Stars, but who knows.
After we finished eating, we walked to MK. Yes, WALKED, cause BLT/CR are perfect.
If you are wondering, it is only about a 5 minute walk. Not bad at all!
I was home ♥
We made our way down Main Street aka TEARS EVERYWHERE.
One day I will live up there. Forget the castle! I want a view of the castle! That will happen when I am the next Bob Iger.
We headed into Tomorrowland and went on the Carousel of Progress. I have to say, they did a great job during the like 2 day refurb. The sound and lights are MUCH better now.

Then we headed to Storybook Circus.
MINE TRAIN CONSTRUCTION!
This place is amazing.
We went into Petes Silly Sideshow to meet Daisy and Minnie. There are two lines, one for Daisy and Minnie, and then one for Goofy and Donald.
The line was about 20 or so minutes and then we got to meet them. Daisy was up first and she was awesome. The photopass girl said that I had a lot of sass and Daisy said that she had her eyes on moi. (she took 2 fingers and then pointed them at her eyes and then at moi, so yeah ). Our pic came out good, but of course Im not looking in the right direction.
Next up was Minnie and she was so cute. I loved her outfit!

Your view was amazing! Kind of like when we booked a standard view at AKL. They said we ended up with a partial view of the savanna and may see a few animals but not often. Well we ended up right next to the area where they keep the animals at night and where they feed them, so we woke up every morning to the animals being released and got to see plenty of animals mere feet away from us! It was breathtaking!!
