Motion sickness in Alaska?

We have never cruised before so I'm not sure how we will do with the motion. We are thinking about doing Alaska. Is the motion less than a Bahamas cruise? I was thinking about getting a 5a on deck 7 in early June. But if motion isn't normally a problem we could do a cat 7a and go later in the season.

Thanks!

We found that, because so little of your sailing is in "open seas", it was remarkably smooth for our trip. You are spending most of the time sailing between land and islands.

We did find it to be windy up on deck, though.

Our first day was pretty rough, but we sailed from Seattle. I think the Vancouver sailings aren't as bad. The whole rest of the cruise we never felt the ship move.

Sailing out of Vancouver didn't even feel like we were on a ship. When you go through the inner passage you are between the mountains and so close to them that you go very slowly.
