Morphsuit in disney?

Wow, the judgement day has come, and I missed it.
OP is a parent just like most of us.. We all have battles to fight, some can just keep it hidden, and quite frankly, I don't think this one is really a big one! Until you are perfect, stop judging. To OP's son, morph-on! Maybe not at Disney (because of guidelines only), but rock your own style, kid!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

It's really not that "individual" right now. It's trendy among that age group like wearing black socks pulled up like old men with bright pink Nikes. Everyone is doing it! I saw a group of boys being escorted out of the mall on Sunday wearing those suits. They don't like that the face is covered either and I don't blame them. It's like wearing a gigantic pantyhose over your head and makes identifying the person a problem when there actually is an incident.

Let him choose a different way to dress up "to get attention" without covering his face.

Try not to be so judgmental;)

Holy shrine? I'm guessing you haven't read many of my posts. :lmao:

Disney has rules about people wearing costumes to the parks. This particular costume does not fit within the guidelines.

What??? Are you saying its not??? Blasphemy! ;)

Point taken about the technicality of the guideline.

If you are talking about me, a morph suit at a ball game, party, frat party, etc appropriate. Cosplay at a convention, party, with other Cosplay people, appropriate. Wonder Woman costume (not apron lol, which I make or hoodie) party, anywhere else there are consenting adults...;) Disney bound...not costumes.

A time and a place.

Wanting that attention in inappropriate places is, well, inappropriate.

Wearing your Little Mismatched socks to MK on Tuesdays after Labor Day...inappropriate. :roll eyes: Really?

Here is where Disney describes what is NOT permissible.

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/parks/recommended-dress/

Nothing says kid's costumes can only be princesses or pirates, or have to be Disney Characters.

If one of these suits really freaks you out or gets your goat avoid the Toy Story Soldiers in the parks, they basically look like this with combat clothing on.

I have 9 and 12 year old boys. We are VERY strict parents. Both of them want a morph suit so badly they are earning their own money to buy them. They won't be wearing them to church, school, WDW, the mall, grocery store; and never without shorts. We hardly "indulge their every whim". Just another point of view... They are FUN, and if they ever earn the money, it will be a good teaching moment on why you wear certain clothes certain places.

Morph suits creep me out. If my 8 year old DS wanted to wear one out in public, I would probably say no. I know, I know, I am a huge downer.

...how is this five pages...

and even stranger, how did we make it through 5 pages without a single complaint or shot at Fastpass+?

New record. Proud of you guys.

I never thought this thread would go on for so long, especially after the OP said her son would not be wearing it to Disney.

My neighbor's son went through a morph suit phase a few years ago, apparently we are ahead of the curve when it comes to strange kid phases here in Jersey ;)

He usually wore it with the head part pulled down though and he was always wearing shorts even in the middle of winter so at least the morph suit kept him warm. I'm happy to report he is now a senior and has a girlfriend so all is not lost ;)

That said, I think they are really creepy and I'm not sure why kids wear them, but thinking back on the 80's I'm sure people asked why we felt the need to wear neon. However, when taking a picture of my kids I would like to see their face, not a piece of cloth, otherwise it could be any random kid in the picture.

that's it!! I'm wearing a saran wrap speedo on my trip!
As long as your face isn't covered! Lol, I forgot the green men. My son was terrified of them when he was four. Maybe that is why I reacted so strongly!

I know Disney doesn't say no Spider-Man's. (Do they own spider now? Potentially bad example) but we aren't talking a little guy. 3 4, 5, 6, not abnormal. At a certain point what is normal becomes abnormal. If I saw a big kid (my kids were 5 ft tall by the time they were 10 ) earring one of those I would think one of two things. The kid had issues or the parent had no boundaries. Maybe because those are the people I work with every day.

Sorry I offended. Got caught up in mapgies' assertions that all costumes all the time were ok. And that any sort of pattern of clothing equaled a costume.

So... What are we arguing about, again?[/QUOTE]

If I am following this thread correctly, I think you are arguing over whether or not it is inappropriate for a 10 year old child to dress up in a morph suit in a place called Fantasy Land. pirate:

Enjoy your trip OP and enjoy the heck out of these years when your kid wants to be silly and dress in morph suits!
