Friday night we didn't go back til close to 6 pm. Probably the latest we've ever taken a nap. We mostly got up because we were hungry!
We used the Toy Story lot again, got a space that seemed really far away, but like others have said, even from the farthest space, its still a short walk. And what a relief to board a heated bus, ready and waiting, instead of waiting in line for a tram! If you have a stroller, I don't know why you wouldn't use this lot.
I think I saw up to seven strollers on our bus on one ride. And while most are collapsed somewhat, they don't have to be all squished, one at a time on the tram. They can also hold two ECVs, I believe, since they look identical to the ones in WDW.
We were starving so we headed straight to Rancho de Zacalo. It was sooo crowded. Usually we go here and its moderately busy. You would have thought they were giving away free gift cards with every meal. Every single cash register was open too. Never seen this before. We eat here every trip, weekends, weekdays, lunch and dinner - this was rare.
This was not a happy dinner. In the hustle and bustle of the crowds, and the desperate need for food, DH ordered the wrong item. We got the regular enchiladas, not the ones with carne asada.
This was just total grumpiness for both of us. We don't really even like the enchiladas, we love the carne asada, however. I told DH we should go back and tell them, but there was already a line, and he was already too grumpy. Don't tell me DH and I are the only ones who deals with grumpiness and hunger simultaneously
! DH didn't really eat much and we were surrounded by all kinds of people and possibly in the only seats not near a heater. Bad experience. Food was kinda lukewarm. We'll still return here, when its not busy, and order the right item.
After riding some rides, we got in line for WoC. We were both still kinda grumpy at this point. One young couple + long car ride + little sleep + blah dinner +
Disneyland = still an ok day, but spirits not as high! My best idea of the night was that we went to the Animation studio and rested for a good 15 minutes in the warmth. We were definitely not the only ones. I was sooo thankful we did this. Around 8:50 we left for WoC. It was right after 9 when we entered the line I think. I felt bad since we ran out of time to get DH something else to eat, so I ran over to Pacific Wharf to grab a chocolate chip cookie. I made it back to the line (*READ this was not the blue line, but rather the line to get into the blue line since it wasn't open yet, LOL). And then we were happy again!
Around 9:20, I think, as soon as the first show was over, our line started moving and we moved into a roped area. We were told to "move all the way up" repeatedly until people actually did so....
Then around 9:40, I think, we were let into the area. Oh man....this is a rush! There is just a mad dash of people trying to get as close as possible, not paying attention to other areas they can go into. DH and I went to the second tier, as I did not want anyone in front of me. It was also a place I had picked out earlier.
Here is our view - of a lot of plants, because this was taken from the railing. So if you have a three foot child in your group, here is their view.
Move the camera a little, you have an awesome, amazing, no people in front of you and easy to exit spot.
I love all the little head silhouettes in everyone's photos!
So without further ado, I present, "that old camera we take on trips" attempt at photographing world of color.
And here is a movie of the Pirate's segment. My favorite part, but definitley not the best part of the show.
It was a wonderfully artistic experience. I loved the music, water, graphics, and light all combined. I was just in awe the whole time, partly because of the technical aspects that must have been challenging to make such a show, but also because of the way it just makes you feel. I left so warm and fuzzy, despite that I was freezing, and reminded of all the wonderful Disney classics. Seeing it with other Disney fanatics, singing a long, gasping at all the right moments, eyes being careful not to blink and jaws dropped. I cannot wait to see it again - in hopefully warmer, but not too hot, weather!
Friday was a blast, even for a tired, half day!
