I got so lucky that we were down on our trip the day that Moe's opened along with the Simpson's food court area
I spent hours and who knows how much money sitting at the bar tyring a bit of everything etc. We were there so many times that the bartenders didn't even need to check our IDs anymore
We were one of the first people in and snagged a seat at the end of the bar next to Barney. Had our beers, played with the love tester, took pictures.
Then Homer comes walking in, goes up to Barney looks at his beer, pounds on the bar demanding a beer. The team member / escort tells him 'NO', then he pleads for a little beer, Marge pouts that he can't get a beer. (I have this on video)
The bar has Duff Light, Duff, and Duff Dry. (These are made by Florida Brewing Company and taste like a nice craft beer - this is not a rebadge of bud or miller)
$7.50 for a 20oz beer
$9 for a moe's plastic souvenir glass with $7.50 refills at anywhere in the park where there is draft beers. This mug gives you 2oz more
Duff Light is under 100 Calories (nice dark color)
Duff (has a deep brown color)
Duff Dry (only sold in bottles, they pour the bottle in a cup, and take it back, is a Stout beer)
Flaming Moe's $9 - Super fun drink to watch being made. It is zero calories, and tastes like a citrus drink. Think of mixing an airborne tablet with sprite. There is dry ice in the bottom of the cup along with an orange fizzy tablet. The cup comes in 2 pieces. The bottom of the cup is there the dry ice is along with the fizz tablet. The top part of the cup has a built in strainer that keeps the bottom part of the cup safely below. NO ALCOHOL!
Buzz Cola - they mix a chery syrup with coke zero (so zero calories) $2.70 for a 20+oz cup. I'll be honest, I loved this drink.
Mixed Fruit Drinks - Think crystal light type mixed drinks. there was a margarita, punch, and a lime type drink for sale. These are zero calories too.
Most of the drinks are low or zero calories. They wanted kids to be able to have a drink at moes, while the parents had a beer. I for one, welcome the zero calorie drink alternatives.
- Seating in moes is part of the food court, you could get food and sit at the tables
- The Love Tester - works!! it is free and ranges from Casanova to Cold Fish
- The TV at the bar works, and plays clips from the show involving Moes. (The first day had some weird clips about Skinner and bart & sound was muted, but the next 2 days had the volume playing and all Moe's clips)
- Rumor has it that there will be a phone at the end of the bar that may ring with prank calls. There is a payphone on the wall but it does nothing.
- Oh... there is a "Hidden Mickey" in the bar. It is a small rat... see if you can find it
Now for some disappointing news: on the first day Barney at the end of the bar had a clear mug with beer at the bottom of the mug. That night a worker came in and painted it white. Now he looks like he is drinking a cup of coffee. The workers couldn't understand why they did such a thing. Since I spent hours in the bar over the past 3 days, some corporate guys were in there pointing at barney etc.. I went over and asked about the mug. They said Fox made them paint it over
