Sorry if this thread exists elsewhere, but I CANNOT find a moderate resorts comparison of size/walking distances.

My question is for those who have been to most of the mods... OTHER THAN POFQ, WHICH OTHER RESORT REQUIRES THE LEAST AMOUNT OF WALKING/IS THE MOST COMPACT? (And I know the answer is not CBR).

We have some older folks staying with us and, in case POFQ is booked full, we need an alternative. THANK YOU!

Other than POFQ, there isn't a compact Mod.

It's going to come down to room location.

POR, for example, is huge and sprawls out over considerable distances.
But if you book Preferred and request building 14 or 18, you will never walk far for anything because you will be right next to the main building and main bus stop.

CBR also is huge and sprawling.
But if you book Preferred and request buildings closest to Old Port Royale, you will have very short walks to get to food/shops/main pool/bus stop.

CSR again, huge and far-flung in places.
But again, if you book Preferred and request buildings closest to the main facilities, you'll eliminate the walking.
I do have to say, this one is probably my least favorite Mod as far as being able to get into the right locations, and I don't really like the food options here.

As a worst-case scenario, too, all of these have bus routes dedicated to internal resort traffic, which will pick you up near your room and bring you to the main buildings, etc. I know this is inefficient and inconvenient, but at least you won't have to walk for miles if you cannot get yourself into an ideal location.

I would say POR even though its larger then FQ, there are several bridges going across the water connecting all sections of the resort, unlike CBR and CSR that only have 1 bridge.
Take a look on the POR thread, page 1 has a resort map. We like the mansion section, both Acadian House and Magnolia terrace are good locations, I always put in a room request to be close to Old Man Isl. bridge to be a short walk to main pool, and main building, lobby, food, gift shop, etc. without having to pay preferred.

I've stayed preferred at CSR and Royal Rooms at POR. POR was much closer to the main building and bus stops. The particular room at CSR makes a big difference - some of them are practically through a maze.

All 3 of the larger moderate resorts have preferred rooms you can book. That will get you closer to the main buildings and bus stop. There is no other moderate resort that is compact that you could easily walk around the whole thing.

I would just look them all over and decide which one appeals to you most. Pick it for a back up, and if you have to book it, make sure you pay for a preferred room location.

I just thought too that CBR does not have elevators at all. POR has them only in the mansion buildings, so if you get a preferred room there, you will be in a building without an elevator. Not sure if that makes a difference in your choice, but I thought it was good info for you to have.:)
