Here live from MK. This event has become disappointing for DW and I. We have seen a lot of angry, frustrated folks tonight. It is the worst vibe from an MVMCP we've seen in eight years. Have they upped attendance significantly to these? This is the most crowded we have seen yet. Navigation and sight lines are the sore point for most. That and folks w/o wrist bands. Hope others here are sensing a better vibe. We're enjoying the sights and the weather!

DD and I were at the party tonight. It was crowded, but other than that, I can't agree with this post. People seemed to be having fun and enjoying themselves. I didn't hear anyone complain.

It was super crowded, but people seemed to be having fun anyway.

Also, we saw more than one CM ask guests w/o wristbands to leave.

We were there and it was super crowded but people seemed to be having fun. We had dinner at BOG. We rode Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Pooh, Pan, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear with no lines. We watched the castle turn many colors and fantastic fireworks. We saw a great parade. The humidity made it a bit uncomfortable. We had fun but wore ourselves out.

Glad others didn't get the same vibe as us. Must have been a few isolated security issues that we happened to witness up close. We still had a blast. It's just sad to see folks arguing with cast members and other guests over trivial stuff during an otherwise festive time of year. The toy soldiers are still my favorite!

I hate to hate on WDW and usually have NO complaints from vacations but one complaint I have carried for the past few years is MVMCP.

Its been a while since we went but when we did I hated it. We went in early December and it was way too crowded. Don't think the party is worth the extra money at all considering you may not end up riding anything and there really wasn't anything that extra and great. The parade was nice but not worth the extra money. Free hot chocolate and cookies is not a big deal either and the waits are usually so long. And if you wanna see Santa just go to EPCOT :lmao:

Again, I rarely complain about WDW but MVMCP just stunk in my opinion. Problem really was was too crowded and not anything extra special for the money.

We went to the party on the 3rd and although I did think it was crowded at first it seemed to get better after the first parade. We got seats for the first parade just past the bridge in front of that Christmas shop. About an hour before the parade. There were some really nice people sitting next to us and DS had a great time playing pirate with their son. The mom made all the kids glow stick jewelry. And we had dinner and snacks while we waited.

After the parade we rode BTMR twice, Splash, HM, and Peter Pan with no wait. Then DH and DS went back to the room and DD and I stayed until Midnight. We rode Space Mountain three times with almost no wait at all and then got snacks on the way out. We had a great time!

Do the CM's escort them to an exit or do they just ask them to leave and hope they comply?

We felt the same way about MNSSHP.

We love the Christmas party, but did have a bad experience last year. It was so crowded it was hard to enjoy. However, that is not stopping us from trying it again next year! Hopefully we will catch it on a day that is a little less crowded.

Didn't attend MVMCP this year but did go to MNSSHP - the party was great, as usual, but it seemed MUCH more crowded than other years (we always go the same the weekend).

My friends and I went to the party on Nov 15th and had a great time until it started raining. There was no line ups for the rides, and I didn't find it all that crowded unless you were on Main Street. We were asked several times to show the wristbands. The only downside to this was that since we missed the first parade we thought we would catch the second one. But since it was raining, they cancelled it after everyone waiting in the rain for almost 30 minutes...the upside was my friend complained about the parade to guest services, and they gave us free passes to the party on the 22nd, which I found a lot busier than the party the week before, and we didn't miss the parade this time!

During the "sweep", if someone is found without wristbands, one CM stays behind and ensures (follows) that they leave the park. In addition, there are CM's at each store entrance, restrooms, etc., that stop guests from entering after 7pm until the sweep passes by them. Only restrooms that can be used during the sweep are the ones next to City Hall and then they are checked when the sweep gets there. They usually try to "relocate" from the Main St area to the sidewalk in front of the train station but that area is double checked after the initial sweep passes.

A lot more comprehensive than people think.

went to MVMCP once....spent most of the time wondering why I paid to get into the park twice....it didnt seem worth the money....IMHO:confused3

We are going to MVMCP on the 15th for the 3rd time. I understand what the OP is saying. I have witnessed what they are talking about, but have also witnessed a lot of people having fun including us. I think it really depends what your expectations are and what you hope to accomplish. A little luck is involved too as to what people you encounter along your travels.

As far as crowds, it's mainly confined to the Main St area and main hub. Once you get away from that its actually quite pleasant. Short lines for rides and minimal crowds. We use MVMCP to go on as many rides as we can with minimal waits. We avoid the parade and character greets where the crowds are and have a blast. That works for us and we have fun. I do feel for the people who go mainly for the parade, fireworks, and characters. Those crowds get a little crazy at times because everyone is in one small area of the park.

If Disney asked my opinion I would say raise the price and make the party more exclusive. I would gladly pay $100 a ticket if they cut the attendance in half. I think the expectations of most people is they are going to be part of something exclusive and when they see the crowd on Main St they are very disappointed.

I have never been to the party but have a question. When people say it's crowded are you just talking about Main Street? It's just strange that some say it's extremely crowded and others say they rode everything with little or no lines.
