Today was a sad day, it was our last full day - tomorrow we were going home
This is a picture of the 3rd floor lift (oops, I mean elevator) area - everything about the Boardwalk is so pretty.
I was meeting some fellow Dis'ers today from the adult/solo board, they'd managed to persuade me they weren't all axe murderers so I wasn't too nervous We were having breakfast at Crystal Palace, yum!
I was up early and caught the 'breakfast' bus at 7.15 am, which went directly from the Boardwalk to MK (nice surprise that it didn't stop at the Swan/Dolphin!), everyone was ready and waiting to be let in and there's something about being amongst the first guests to enter the park that is so special, I did of course have to take a photo of the castle
One thing I did notice compared to previous trips the character breakfasts were a lot less busy, when we were let into the park there was no more than 30 people waiting in line to enter, by the time we'd got into Crystal Palace, sat down, got up again to get to the buffet, and sat down again, the restaurant wasn't even half full.
I'm not sure if it's OK to post photos of the others, but I'll post one of myself and Lorna, she's Australian so I'm sure she'll be fine I love Piglet but I must admit there's something a little strange about a nearly 40 year old loving a character that really is just another person inside a costume
We then spent a couple of hours wandering around the park, again lines were very low, in fact non existent!
Drama of the day was getting stuck on Splash Mountain - now, I'm can't prove that the guys had rigged this, but let's just say I had to be talked into going on this ride in the first place, getting stuck inside was my idea of hell! Anyway, after what seemed an enternity (it wasn't just 5 minutes) the ride started again, we go down that horrendous drop (never again!) and then get stuck outside again. I didn't think I was going to make it off that ride in one piece.
Stuck inside Splash!
After Splash we headed over to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad where we had a 5 minute wait - I'm telling you, this ride is getting bumpier and bumpier each time I ride it! Afterwards I was starting to feel the heat and tired again so I said my goodbyes to everyone as I was heading back to the Boardwalk for a rest, I stopped off at Pirates on the way out as it was showing a 5 minute wait, I didn't wait at all - I was on and off before you could shout Jack Sparrow!
After an hour or 2 rest I was semi-raring to go again so caught the boat into Epcot (I was feeling lazy) for a partial stroll around World Showcase, it was also nice and quiet (again).
Who do I bump into but my Mum and Dad! Mum really wanted to do Maelstrom as this was closed in 2007, thankfully it was open and after a quick 5 minute wait we riding the waves lol We didn't stay for the movie though I'm sorry to say.
We made our way back to the Inn to start packing, we'd taken 3 cases with us which we thought would be OK, we did manage to get everything packed (thankfully they were 'expanding' cases) but were a little worried about the weight - fingers crossed for tomorrow! We were having dinner at the Yachtsman with friends so took advantage of the offerings in the lounge as a pre-dinner appetiser - tonight's hot food offerings were from the ESPN Club, chilli and BBQ chicken wings - both were absolutely delicious. Overall I have been very impressed with the food offerings at the Boardwalk.
The lounge CMs had offered to check us all in online so at 7.30 pm armed with our etickets and passports I went back to the lounge where we were all checked in with no problem at all, in fact I was worried it was too easy, surely something would go wrong (it normally does when we fly!).
After checking in online we then walked around Crescent Lake to the Yacht Club for our dinner at the Yachtsman. On arrival we were surprised at how quiet it was, the last couple of times I'd eaten here it was very busy. I requested John (who is fantastic!) be our server but apparently he was off that night so our server would be Neil, who turned out to be equally as fantastic.
I did of course have to start the meal off with a Yachtsman Cosmopolitan:
A fantastic evening followed, unfortunately by the time our meal (and drinks) had finished it was late and I was just too tired to go onto JellyRolls where some of the Dis'ers were meeting up Another perfect day, just such a shame we're going home tomorrow
