May Exercise Thread--Keep on moving toward summer!

Welcome to the May exercise thread!

No better time than right now to set a goal and get moving! Memorial Day is at the end of the month.


If you haven't joined us before, this is an awesome, very supportive group that loves to cheer on participants to meet their goals!

I challenge you to push just a little harder this month to get in a little bit more activity. Plan your gym time/runs/walks/swims, etc and get in that exercise.

Did you know that a goal of 1800 min for the month is just 60 min a day of activity?

A goal of 900 min is 30 min of activity per day!
A goal of 1440 is 24 hours of exercise--a whole day!

How the challenge works:
Post your personal goal for March (xxxx minutes of exercise) and then post updates as frequently as you like. Progress will be tracked here.
Please post your update total at the top of your post.
You are also welcome to share your activity as well.
EXAMPLE:
301/1800
45 min running.


As you reach milestones for the month, your name and total will change color:
At 10% you'll be blue and on the move!
At 25% you'll be hitting it hard and hot pink!
At 50% you'll be purple and halfway there!
At 75% you'll be teal and cruising to the finish
At 90% you'll be red (because you'll be on fire!)
And at 100% you'll be WISH green!


I will try to update on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and one weekend day.

I'm going to backoff and go for 1200 for May as I think my part-time job will be more full-time for a bit and the college kids are coming home. Looking forward to spending more than an occasional weekend with them. :cool1: :cool1:

Joining for the first time this month! Just started getting back on track this week, so I can get in shape for our upcoming WDW trip in September, and in the process, get fit in general (stop being Pooh-sized!). Currently detoxing from sugar cold turkey (eating no added sugars/sweeteners at all, only what occurs naturally in the foods I eat), so energy levels are pretty low at the moment. Going to aim low at 900 minutes this month.

I'm back for May after taking a couple months off. I am going to shoot for 900 minutes. Thanks for hosting :)
 
I'm in! I'm an avid exerciser. I love it! I'm going to set a smaller than usual goal for myself though. I'm working so late most of next week, and I will have to skip exercise on those days. So I'm going to set a goal of 700 minutes for myself for the month of May.
 
I'm in for May. I need to get back in shape and hope this will help.

Even though May doesn't start until tomorrow could we start posting our exercise today? I'm exercising this afternoon and would love to share, it keeps me motivated and it helps when I get down about those little problem areas...my goal is to focus on the positive and looking at what I've accomplished should help.
 
Okay, I'm going to stick with last months total: 1800 I almost made it, and I had two vacations in April, so that total should be totally doable in May.
 
Thanks for hosting! I haven't done one of these in a long time, but sign me up for 1000 minutes! It's ambitious for me but I'm getting married in less than 3 months. It's time to go big or go home!
 
Welcome everyone! I'll update tonight when I'm on a computer. Good luck on your first day. I have to run 5 miles to prepare for my 10 mile race on Sunday. :)
