I would like to hear from some people who have used Magical Express when arriving at Disney.

What are your thoughts? Likes and Dislikes?

A few questions..........

I'm flying Southwest and staying at Saratoga Springs if this makes a difference.

1) How long does it take from when my plane lands in Orlando to the time I get to my hotel? 45 minutes? 1 Hour? 1 1/2 hours? 2 hrs?

2) Do I have to get my luggage at baggage claim and bring to Magic Express bus?

3) How many resorts do they stop at?

4) When do my bags arrive in my room from the time I land? 2hrs? 3hrs? 4 hrs? 5 hrs?

Thank you you in adavnce for your help with my questions.

We just returned from OKW flying Southwest and using the Magical Express. We found it to be very easy; the only difficulty was finding the ME counter to check in! We handed in our tickets at the counter and they directed us to a line and we were escorted to a waiting bus. We never had to touch the luggage, it is sent separately. Only your carry -on luggage travels with you. It took us 30 minutes from the airport with one stop - at Saratoga Springs. So, I believe you will be the first stop on that "line." We spent the evening at Downtown Disney and when we returned, the luggage was safely in our room (this was probably about two hours).

We have used ME several times to SSR. Usually it takes less than an hour from the plane landing to arriving at SSR. Depending upon crowd levels and their destination, the buses have had several destinations in addition to SSR....with SSR always being the first stop. (OKW and POR guests are often on the bus as well) The bus ride to SSR is about 25 or so minutes.

I can't answer your luggage question....we have always been out at the parks when it arrived. If I were to guess, it can take upwards of 3 hours for luggage to arrive. Just in case we always take certain essentials in our carry-on luggage. Never a problem though!

They can stop at 3 resorts. Keep your carry on bags with you. Once in a while there can be a long delay before your bags show up. Once at WL it took 8 hours before they were delivered. We think that Bell Services delivered them to the wrong room.

No, provided that you put the yellow ME tags on your luggage before you check your luggage with your airline.

We've taken ME three or four times now and the elapsed time between stepping off the plane and entering the lobby of our resort is usually one hour. Pretty good, really and a relaxing way to get to WDW.

Something to keep in mind for your return trip on ME: The night before your check out day you should receive a note (under your door or hanging on your door handle) from ME telling you what time your bus will depart from your resort. Make sure you are at the ME bus stop 20 minutes prior to your departure time, and even earlier if you need to retrieve luggage from Bell Services. On our last stay (at OKW) we arrived at the bus stop at least 15 minutes ahead of time and the bus was already there and nearly full! I wasn't too happy when the driver told me that we might not be able to get on the bus. I showed him my letter with my departure time and asked him how could it be that I cannot get on the bus I'm scheduled to take and he just shrugged. We got the last two seats on the bus but some people who arrived after we did (also scheduled for that bus) were left behind at OKW with promises that another bus would be along soon. The bus ended up pulling away from OKW at least 5 minutes BEFORE its scheduled departure time because the bus was already full.
