Do I get anything special for that? A t-shirt maybe? Or a button?
To expand on dancin's intro, we have stayed their three times.
First experience (December 2012)....great. Clean, friendly staff, no complaints at all.
Second experience (October 2015)....awful. A par-tay across the hall that spilled its way out INTO the hall was allowed to go on and on throughout the night. Yes, we called the front desk to plead for their intervention.....4 times!!!....but we were told they
"couldn't do anything about it, because the occupants of the party room were all black and the staff were all white, so things will get messy when the police are called". I kid you not. We ended up getting less than 2 hours sleep before our wake up call.
We gave them another shot in December 2105. This time, we ended up with a whole room of rowdy, obnoxious, beat-on-the-walls marijuana smokers next door, who polluted the air so badly that we ended up with a smoke eater in our room all night to clear the stench. It took 1 phone call and THREE personal visits to the front desk before anything was done about them, the final time where I forced the front desk staff to come with me down the hall to smell with his own nose whatever the heck they were smoking in that room (and hear the racket emanating through the walls). Because pot smoking in a hotel is illegal in NY state, the police were called this time and the offenders were carted away by the sherrif's office. Once again, we ended up only getting a couple of hours sleep before our early morning wake up call.
To be fair, there are good amenities here for the price: decent pool, large hot tub, small exercise room, free breakfast that starts at 4 am, great proximity to the airport, and we have had no problems at all with the cleanliness of the rooms. They were also taking Canadian money at par when we were there at Christmas.
Its an older hotel, though, so the decor is rather dated. Definitely not super modern or wonderfully plush.
