Local school trips in May

Whenever we go to Universal in May we are bombarded by the local end of year high school field trips. We are going the first few weeks of May next year and want to try to miss the school trip crowds. We thought that maybe Sunday would be the best bet as school trips will most likely happen during the week or Saturdays. Anyone know if that is the case?

In our experience, Fridays are the worst for school groups.

I agree, Fridays are the worst. I try to go Sunday thru Tuesdays during May.

I was there last week, and Monday both parks were pretty crowd free, except around HP but even then there wasn't too much of a backup till FJ broke down.

Wednesday was more crowded but not really bad.

Friday was crazy with groups of kids. High school, middle school. The worst part about them was the way they took up the whole walkway and you couldn't get past them.

But compared to Disney the day before, not so bad. At least they weren't in strollers and being banged into us by adults, the way kids at disney are.

Official grad events are over for the year...but if school groups are still coming the parks then early in the week is the best time to avoid them.
