Live TR of B2B SF long weekend & BSM (DL 60th)

Hey Folks! DS11 (turning 12 during the trip) and I are heading out to SF to start our B2B adventure with 36 other DISers. This should be a fantastic adventure! Right now, we are at IAH getting ready to get on the plane. DW(29) is going with us for a couple of pre-days (she just returned from an Alaskan Cruise with the MiL)

I'm so happy you're doing this trip report! It sounds amazing. When I booked SF for next year Kevin told me that they were trying to get this trip for next year as well. I was VERY interested, however, DH is not a Disney fan so the BSM portion would have not been enjoyable for him. Have a fantastic trip! Looking forward to reading about your adventure. And I hope your son has a fantastic birthday!

Yes, welcome to SF in the summer! I live on the peninsula and try to fly from San Jose whenever possible to avoid the usual Low-Cloud Delay SFO often has.

Looking forward to the trip report. I am scheduled a B2B Peru/SF trip starting in three weeks.

Well we finally made it to SF yesterday. We had a 2 and half hour delay mainly due to a work slowdown with United. Grrrrr!!! ABD picked us up and we headed to the Fairmont. Awesome Hotel, but $$$$. We met up with Pete and Dustin downstairs and went to grab some dinner. We Meadered through.Chinatown and found a great place to eat. We filled up and went back to the Hotel. DW went and had Wind and Cheese with fellow adventurers, Jeff and Val (from here on known as J&V). They had a great view of the bay from their room! Pete, Dustin, and I ventured out to take some pics but the rain prevented us from taking many pics.

You got out pretty far to get that cool shot of the bridge. The Fairmont's a cool hotel. In case you hadn't heard, there's a neat tiki bar downstairs that's fun to hang out in.

I rented a car. It cost more to park the rental than to rent it. We went to Ft Point and had a great view.


Tonga Room is on our list for tonight.

Good thing you went to the GG Bridge yesterday. They are doing work on the approach road and have the parking lots at both sides of the bridge closed today and through the weekend.

If you have free time make sure to go to the Ferry Building so many cool food shops and stands.

Tonga Room is so much fun. My guess is your days are pretty filled from this point out, but ask away if you need recommendations for restaurants or things to do in the Bay Area.

We made it to the Ferry Building, did some shopping, and are taking in happy hour at Tonga now. Busy day so far. The ABD portion starts tomorrow in the AM.
