Hello all, welcome to my first live trip report! I've been wanting to do one of these for a while but I kept having trouble trying to get a sim card and prepaid card for my iPad. Finally I've got it set up and it's time to start!

DW and I drove down from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada July 25-27th. It was 2040 miles to get here.

We're in the queue for Philharmagic right now and it's about to let us in, be back in a little bit!

On the boat, headed to WCC for supper! Going to probably do this report tweet-style. More later!

Wow, what a long drive!!!

Yeah, it figures out to be about 32 hours to drive, but we actually like it. We get to see a lot of things you miss when you fly. Getting there in a few hours is definitely nice, but we like road trips. We always stop at Cracker Barrel on the way down, as we don't have one anywhere near home. It's also extremely nice to have our own car while we're there so we can sneak away to Sonic or checkers every now and then. :lmao:

So we arrived in Kissimmee around 6 pm on July 27th. The weather was perfect the whole way until we were 30 miles from our hotel. We experienced probably the worst rain we've ever seen in Florida, including the year we were here for Faye. We drove through it slowly with everyone else, hazards going, and 10 minutes later it was completely stopped! Oh, I forgot to mention, we have air-conditioning this trip! On our previous trips, our car didn't have it, so it was a hot trip! We just got a new vehicle, a Mitsubishi RVR GT. It's totally keyless, moon roof, climate control, 4WD and tons more cool stuff. We love it so far!

When we arrived, we checked into our temporary hotel, the Best Western Lakeside. We added a few days to our trip late, so we stayed here for a few days. It's a decent hotel a mile from WDW and we get it for $27 a night on Hotwire. We're about to go eat, so I'll add more later. :goodvibes

We drove down for years from 1000 miles away, would end up being around a 18 hour drive roughly. It was always a nice experience and its great to have a car, but the ride home is the worst part! This December we are flying down for the first time in a long time actually, we are renting a car when we get there because the car is just so much more convinent.

No idea how you could have done Florida with no AC!:scared1:

Nice price on the hotel room:thumbsup2

YeaH, Florida with no air is rough! And yeah, the drive home does kind of stink, but at least we get to see our dogs again!

The food and atmosphere at WCC is amazing! We will definitely be eating there again. :goodvibes. I'll be adding pictures of everything once we get home.

We're headed back to MK now, time to go see Wishes and the Main Street Electric Parade. I'll be back again later!

Finished watching Wishes, hopped on Haunted Mansion (which is awesome by the way, I won't spoil anything, but the end is hilarious! :rotfl:). Now on IaSW. :goodvibes

After Small World, we went to Philharmagic for the second time today. I could watch that one over and over and over, love it! We're off to Winnie the Pooh now, then we're going to do all of Tomorrowland. The park is open until 3am tonight!

I've realized that it's actually tougher than I thought to do a live TR, as you're always on the move and there are not very many long lines that we do. I'm hoping to have fewer "we went on this and this and this" posts. We are back from the park now and our room clock says 3:17. We would have been back sooner but the blue monorail decided to break down, so there was a long wait for that. I think we actually left the park at 1:35. Both of us are dog-tired and footsore, and I'm having real problems with chafing. I'm not overweight and the clothes I'm wearing are the same I've been wearing at home, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I had read something about body glide somewhere, but I can't remember if that's a good product or where to get it. I'll have to do some research. TMI huh? :rotfl:

So anyway, back to the beginning, our trip is from July 25th until August 10th. Two travel days on either side with 9 days at Disney and 2 at Universal. Our drive down was pretty uneventful. We did our traditional stop at Cracker Barrel. I still can't believe how good the food is there! I do all the driving, mostly because I have a real hard time giving up the wheel. DW does get it from me occasionally! We made it to Kissimmee, checked in and then headed to DTD. We went straight to Earl of Sandwich to immediately check one of the "musts" off the list. :cloud9: DW got the Full Montegue and I got the Earls Club. We both also got strawberry shortcake. We loved thevsandwiches (as usual) but the shortcake was a little weird. We wandered around for a bit and then went home to get ready for Universal the next day! We finally got to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! I'm getting pretty tired now and typing this all out with a stylus isn't easy, so I'm heading off to sleep now. See you all tomorrow! :yay:

Yeah.... A fellow Winnipegger!
:thumbsup2

So great to see another TR from you!

It's been a while, it's fun to be doing another one!

Glad to hear another report from you!! I love following you as you are there!!

I'll update as much as I can! :goodvibes

So, we kind of slept in today. We must be getting old! :scared1: We're off to Epcot soon. We have reservations at Coral Reef tonight, can't wait! Both DW and I have very sunburned necks but barely any other change on our arms and legs. Hoping that changes soon, I want a good tan! :goodvibes. We both feel good right now though, so the extra sleep must have done us good.

Cya in a bit!

Just finished eating at the Pop Century cafeteria. I had the pepperoni pizza and DW had the Beef and Broccoli. Mine was soso, she says hers was very good. She also got a container of strawberries with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Wow were they good! Quite the breakfast, but I guess that's what happens when you don't get up until noon! :rotfl:

So Universal, the Forbidden Journey ride is absolutely amazing and has entered my top 5 favorite rides list. We ate at the Three Broomsticks, both having Shepherds Pie. DW had a lemonaid and I had a frozen butterbeer. Just ridiculously good, I want another one right now! We saw the show at Ollivanders, which was good, but hardly worth the hour we waited to see it. Oh yeah, we got in at "rope drop" and zoomed to FJ and it was already a 90 minute wait! :scared1: Mostly due to them letting resort guests in an hour early I'm sure. Only ride I've ever waited 90 minutes for in my life. Honeydukes and Zonkos were pretty cool too.

More to come later!

Walked onto Spaceship Earth, most lines are quite short actually. Quite amazed, even at this time of day, there are still fast passes for Soarin! We're waiting for Ellens Energy Adventure right now. I know it has a large amount of people who don't like it, but I like it quite a lot. :goodvibes

How fun to read your live report! I'll look forward to following your trip and picturing things as you go along. Have a great time! :)

Went and got a frozen coke and then DW sat in the shade while I went and did Mission Space Orange. DW can't handle those types of rides anymore, as she gets dizzy. I try and keep my thrill rides to a minimum because of that and I've got some neck problems. We just got Living With the Land. Another ride that I really like, even though it's not at all thrilling. :rotfl: We're off to do The Seas now!

Thanks! Glad to have you along! :goodvibes

Went on Nemo, the giant fish that chases Dory and Marlin around wasn't working. Too bad, I like that part. Watched the manatees and dolphins for a while.

Just had our pager go off for Coral Reef, we're seated up on the top row. Wish it was a window seat, but we'd have had to wait a lot longer. We're both ordering the New York Steak. Yep, we came to a seafood restaurant to have steak! :rotfl:

There's A spot where the big turtle likes to lie down and rest in the aquarium here. He floated down behind the people sitting at that table, a little girl turned around, saw the turtle and screamed at the top of her lungs! :rotfl::rotfl:

I hope you guys have a great supper!! Glad to hear that Epcot wasn't too busy! We love FJ too...I think Universal did such a fantastic job with he HP stuff! :)
