Hi everyone! My name is Sara, and I'm a newbie around here. This is my first PTR, and I'm super excited for our first extended WDW vacation! A little about my family, I'm a mommy to three wonderful (most of the time...) kiddos, Landon (5), Abby (3), and Grace (1), and wife to Scotty. I'm a full time student in what feels like my 10th year in college for Geography and City planning.
Our first trip to the World was addictive and not nearly long enough (only 1 day!), and I had a need to go back. We spent 10 days driving from our home in the frozen North the day after Christmas to Florida and back to visit my dad and his family and took one day, New Years Eve, to spend in the world. Now, travelling for 8 days at that point with three young kids, we were all exhausted, and the night before we arrived, I wound up with sick with a fever, my best guess from the lack of down time from the 7 days before.
Having spent the first 8 years of my life or so being told by my biological mother (I'm adopted, but we had contact until I was 10) that we would go next year, but next year never came, I was not about to let a measly old fever stop this day from happening. I packed my purse full of Ibuprofen and felt like I was going to die all day, but we did it, and I cried the whole time.
Kids see the castle (cry), meet Rapunzel (cry), teacups (cry), Jack Sparrow talks to baby (cry), the least emotional things all day (cry). Maybe it was the fever talking, but still.
That was the inspiration for my scheming to get the hubby to agree. We haven't ever really taken a "big" vacation especially one without kids, other than visiting family, so I started hinting. I would leave the website up, or mention a trip for just us. So when the free dining promo showed up for September, I went in for the kill... Out of knowhere, he actually agreed.
We're all set and booked for POR and all the ADRs done... Babysitters found for the kiddos, and the hubby and I are off! 44 days and counting until the crying starts all over, atleast with my luck. Hope you enjoy reading about our new adventures!
