I am seriously stressing about my ADR's I still have a little over a month before I have to make them but all the food porn is making me change my mind every few days. So now I am torn between Le Cellier or Kona. I really want to try that cheddar soup but that seems to be all I want to try now that they changed the menu. Is Kona better? Or are they both about the same food quality wise.

TIA the obsessive

Do both! LC for lunch...have the soup. And Kona for dinner. Problem soved.:goodvibes

I prefer Le Cellier although I'm probably in the minority as I did'nt care for the soup. (hate beer and I could taste it).
The other food was top notch though!! :goodvibes

We went to dinner at both last trip. I was excited about getting an ADR at Le Cellier - people on DIS rave about this restaurant. While the food was good I won't be running back there. I know people love this place and maybe I am spoiled by some really great steakhouses in the NYC metropolitan area but it didn't wow me. The chedder soup was good and we all loved the bread served in the beginning. I think one thing that taints my view of this restaurant was the so-so service. Nothing to write home about - actually quite slow and unattentive. All of the food at Kona - from appetizers to dessert - were good. Everyone in my party were very happy with what they ordered. Service was also very good. I must add we were with two children and they enjoyed Kona more. We all felt the tables at Le Cellier were very close together. Overall I enjoyed my meal at Kona more and felt it was a better meal for the price (we were OOP for both meals). Many many people love Le Cellier and I am sure you will find tons with positive reviews. Next trip Kona will make the list of possible restaurants and Le Cellier won't.

Hands-down vote for Le Cellier...not a fan of Kona...and I am not a steak-person either...good luck with your decision!

Well both isn't really an option at this point. Right now I have 9 places we want to eat at and only 7ts credits. So I am now paying for 2 OOP. I can more then likely get it to 8 but that is bare minimum.

I know I am driving my poor DH crazy with all my look at this, look at that, pick this. So hopefully I don't annoy all you with my questions I have 32 days left till my ADRs sooo I am sure I will have a ton more.

The family and I have done both Le Cellier & Kona, and we love both...I guess I am not a huge help :goodvibes

I guess if I had to choose, I'd do Kona :cool1: ;)

If you can only pick one-do Kona. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 My DM practically insists we eat there (dinner) twice each trip. And there's the added benefit of it being a resort restaurant so we can eat there on a non-park day. We didn't do LC last Sept. since the Sept. before we were very unhappy with our dinner. As PP have said, the food was pretty good (though the special pasta was so spicy that my DM could hardly eat it and my DD couldn't share :confused3 ) it was the service and the cleanliness of the restaurant that has turned us off. The floor under our table was littered with fries, etc. and our server seemed way too busy. My DM never did get her glass of wine she ordered and he just wasn't very attentive. And the tables seem very close together. :crowded: I think with DDP LC is such a draw that the service, etc. has fallen. :sad2:

We'll eat at KC at least once in Sept. but will still skip LC.

Happy Dining!:goodvibes

We just ate dinner ate both last month and had good experiences at both. We had filet at both restaurants and it was good. I loved the fact that Kona serves fresh asparagus with theirs and the Lapu Lappus at Kona are wonderful. So foodwise I lean toward Kona, but it can be very noisy and have somewhat of a food court ambiance. The service at Le Cellier was far superior. We had Patrick and he was wonderful. We tipped him well and made it a point to speak to a manger about him as we left. Our server at Kona on the other hand was the worst of the whole trip (the others were really good so she stood out). It appeared to be an effort for her to wait on us.
Bottom line, we'd go back to either restaurant again in a heartbeat!

We ate at both last month and enjoyed them. I love the pretzel bread at Le Cellier and the dessert at Kona was lovely. A fruit and cookie fondue. YUMMY I would go back to both.

If you don't already have ADRs for either, you may not have a choice! Le Cellier is a tough ADR to score, but my personal opinion is that Kona is a better meal. We had great service at both places, and we had good food at both. We found the freshness and quality of the food to be just a bit better at Kona, and I think the hype for Le Cellier made it almost impossible for it to live up to its DIS reputation. Ultimately all food recommendations are just other people's opinions and you really do need to experience both, but if I was really forced to do just one, I'd do Kona!

We ate at both last month. LC was our #1 restaurant of the 9 nights. Kona was #2. Steaks and dessert were heavenly at Kona, but LC still got 3 out of 4 votes from our family. Both restaurants were amazing value for the DDP. My DH thought Kona was a bit too loud, but it didn't bother me a bit.

I've done both multiple times. I liked Le Cellier the 1st time I ate there (2005), it was excellent then. The steaks are good. But I ate at Kona for the 1st time last year, and we LOVED it. Ate there twice during our trip, and we will be back soon!

Kona gets my vote!!!

sorry to add to the confusion  but I vote for LeCellier. We ate at both place last time and the food was good at Kona but it was great at LeCellier and we had high expectations after reading the reviews here on the DIS too!

Kona was a nice meal I just thought the ambiance was much better at LC. I would definitely recommend Kona for breakfast though- the Tonga toast can't be beat!

Good luck deciding:thumbsup2

We are eating at the Kona twice this year. Not a big fan of LC. Got to have a pot of Kona pressed coffee after each meal. I do like the Iced Wine at LC. Will have to settle for the Lapu Lapu instead :thumbsup2

I vote for Kona - it has more unique and interesting foods, IMO.

Course, I was very unimpressed with LeCellier. It's a basic steakhouse and unbasic prices. I can eat a much better steak at home - but the dinner meals at Kona are a little more unique. LeCellier crams you in with other tables while Kona is a little more relaxing and uncramped. We had horrible service at LeCellier and excellent at Kona but that varies greatly and you could have the opposite exp as me.

The cheese soup was fine but no better than a beer cheese soup you can get back home.

Maybe the best way to decide would be to see where you are spending your day? If you'll be in Epcot, it's really not worth trekking to the monorail and heading to Kona (even though I think it's a better restaurant). If you'll be in MK, it's really not worth trekking through Epcot to dine at LeCellier. Might be the easiest way to decide ;)

And remember you'll likely have another trip and I don't think either spot is going anywhere anytime soon.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone. Keep the reviews coming. I am leaning more towards Kona but after looking at the kids menu I am stuck beating my head against the wall. Why is there such little choices for kids??? My kids want something other then pizza, hotdogs and burgers? But I know they will love that Kona cone so who knows. I swear I am making this 10 times worse then it needs to be.

Thanks again.

I personally prefer Le Cellier. We always have a great meal there. We ate at Kona last year and everyone at our table was NOT impressed with it at all. Our service wasn't the greatest and the food was that great either. I say if you can get in at Le Cellier, go for it. If not, then go for Kona.
