Just wondering what you do on your last day.Our flight leaves at 730 pm so we will have time. I dont know if we should save a park day or what. I would love to relax by the pool but then how would we shower and all? I was thinking of asking for a late checkout, anyone know how late we can get? Ideas welcome.

We're doing a leisurely breakfast (around 9:00-ish) and then going to DtD for some shopping. We'll do the full checkout before we go and have bell services hold our carry-ons for us unless we're ready to get on ME for the trip to the airport. Our flight should be somewhere around 7:00pm.

If you don't want to go to a park, you could spend the day touring some of the resorts or head to DTD. Late check out will depend on how busy the resort is at the time. With that said, we had a late check out once at the WL and if it's still the same, it would be free up until 1 pm; half a night's room rate until 3 pm; a full night's rate after 3 pm. Some say you need to check with housekeeping to see if it's available, but we got approval at the front desk.

We always try to take late flights home. We sleep in, pack and checkout at 11am. We bring our luggage and bags for holding to bell services and then we head to DTD for lunch and shopping. By the time we return, (mid afternoon) it's almost time to board the ME for the airport. It's fun and relaxing! :)

Our return flight is at 9:30pm. We are checking out early, going to breakfast at Kona, then heading over to the mini golf at Blizzard Beach and then stopping at DTD for a bit.

We always take the last flight home and typically will squeeze in our favorite at all four parks on our last day. We are annual pass holders so that creates nice flexibility in that respect. We love our last day park whirlwind! :lovestruc

we are nuts but we just kept our room booked for another night...that's as late a checkout as one can get :)

I would definitely sleep in and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. See if there are any activities at your resort, and visit the neighboring resorts. A round of mini golf could be fun.

Head to DtD, go to DisneyQuest, have lunch and shop. Leave bags at bell services and pick them up when you come back for ME. We usually have dinner at the resort and let the kids swim if they want.

We usually have a nice table service breakfast, check our bags with the resort airline service, and then go to a park. Now with fp+ and the three a day limits, there seem to be a few rides that we still need to do before heading out. :)

We also have a late-ish flight out on our last day. Originally, we were going to not do parks on arrival day but do a park on departure day, but we've switched it up. Our current plan is to sleep in a bit (as much as DD will allow!), check out and leave all our luggage with bell services before heading to DtD. We'll have lunch there and do some shopping and head back to the resort in the early afternoon to ensure we're back in time for our DME pickup.

We plan the last flight out in the evening too. I am not sure where you will be staying, but on our last couple of trips some of us did hang out by the pool at POR, while those who didn't want to took the boat to downtown Disney to do some shopping and use snack credits we had left.

At POR there are small lockers by the pool, and a bath house with showers and outlets to plug curling iron in etc. I can't remember if there were hairdryers, but I think I just let my hair dry in the sun and curled it (to be presentable for the trip home). There are pool towels to use by the pool. So, you could just pack a carry on bag with change of clothes and whatever you need, throw purse and whatever in the locker, keep a plastic bag to put wet bathing suits in for trip home and enjoy the pool. Of course, this is assuming the resort you stay at is set up this way too. I believe ASM was set up that way too, but way too many trips back to remember.

It's been a few years since we went, but it might be possible to throw the extra items in your suitcase before using the Magical Express (if using). I think we retrieved our luggage from luggage services and brought it to the bus, but honestly I am having a memory laps here!

We had a late flight return once, we hated it. We went to DTD but by that point, we just wanted to go home. We rented a car so we had our bags packed and in the car. It was scorching hot so some of the treats were melting in my luggage. I wasnt impressed. I thought i'd enjoy a late flight out, but that was not the case. Im going to stick to an early flight from now on. Thats just our preference.

As for a late checkout, ive asked once and they gave me an extra 2 hours, which was nice, but i was hoping for a bit longer. They said they'd have to charge me for a later check out.

We prefer to make the most of our last day and usually take the 7pm flight home. We get up, finish packing, check our bags and check out of the hotel, then head to the parks to get as many last-minute things done as possible. Make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to get back to the hotel and retrieve your luggage and/or carry-ons! By the time we get on the plane we're exhausted and sleep the entire flight home.

I have an AP and I live in California. When I come to WDW it is often just for 4-5 days so I want to spend every minute I can at the parks.

I take a late flight (for California-bound, that would be 5-6pm), get up very early, pack up, send my Owner's Locker and carry-on bag to bell services and hit RD (in the past at Hollywood Studios for TSMM-that may change with the advent of FP+)

I am going in May for 3.5 days to check out Magic bands and FP+, and then again in October for 5 days. The May trip will tell me how I am going to be changing my game plan!

Agree!
We always get the latest flight out ( this October it's 8:20). We get up, shower, finish packing , then off to our favorite park for a few hours.. MK!!!

For a late enough flight, and if there are reasonable rates, it's definitely a nice way to do it!

For anyone with treats in luggage, definitely leave it with Bell Services. Actually we do that anyway, because cars can be broken into! I'd rather add an extra half hour to go pick up bags than deal with losing all my stuff from a break-in in the parking lot.
