Here are some hair pictures! I was so incredibly happy with how my hair turned out, as well as all of my girls. We all had flowers in our hair, too. I love this pic of the girls during the ceremony!
My hair is very long, so there was a lot to work with for the updo. I also "borrowed" hair extensions from a close friend who wore them in her wedding the year before. They were the super high quality expensive kind that impressed even the girls at the salon, but not the kind of thing I would ever buy on my own, so it was great to have as my something borrowed. My inspiration for my hair is a traditional Ukrainian style with a braid around the top like a crown. I didn't want this exact look, I wanted something softer in the front, and then pinned curls in the back, in addition to the braid.
The girls at the salon had a hard time with this at first because even though my hair is long, its also on the thin side, so it was hard to get the nice volume of the braid. So after 2 trials, and all working together to accomplish this look, they came up with a plan to use the extensions as the braid. We went with 2 braids, which were made entirely of the extensions. Everything else is my natural hair, which was just about the color of the extensions, but I had some highlights and lowlights added before the wedding so it matched exactly. The braids were pinned into place, and I had my soft rolled back look in the front, and then gorgeous tucked under curls in the back. So here is the final product!
I love the look of the half up half down, or even all down soft curls, but I ultimately went with a full updo. For one, my hair does not hold curl for more than 5 seconds, and I didn't want to be worried the whole time about my hair. Also, July in Maryland is HOT, and with outdoor pics, I didn't want to look sweaty! All in all, it was perfect and I couldn't have been more pleased!
