Laptop voltage converter ?

We're thinking of taking a laptop with us. We've never bothered before, so we're not really sure about the best type of converter to use? I know that some of you take laptops with you, so if you could please give me some advice I'd appreciate it.

You just need a standard UK to US adapter http://www.lindy.co.uk/uk-to-us-australian-adapter-travel-plug/73067.html

We take 2 or 3 laptops each trip, take a 4 gang plug with above adapter on the end.

Just double check your your laptop power supply it should say something like input 100~240v meaning it will work on both US and UK power supplies.

If it says input 240v then it will only work on UK supply, not the US 110v. Don't know any laptop like this they should be all capable of working in both countries.

I actually take a Kensington Wall-Auto-Air power adaptor in place of my normal power supply.
It works on board the airctaft, can be used in the car and as a normal socket power supply. it also charges via the USB socket, my Iphone, ipod, Nintendo Ds and any other USB product.
it means less leads and power supplies to take with you

Sorry if this sounds like a daft question - but reading your post did you say you use a regular UK power strip (3 pin) with a UK - US adapter at the end.

Was thinking of packing one of these to charge the various phones, cameras, DSs and laptop that we're packing for our trip in a week's time.

Does this work okay? Pretty sure most of my chargers are 110-240v so assuming we can just load up the power strip with chargers and plug into the adapter and away we go?

Would you be kind and let me know if this is what you were describing above?
