Lanyards

since I'm so used to the magicbands at WDW I'm wondering how you all recommend carrying tickets around?

Is a lanyard with pouch the overall preferred method?
There are 6 of us and I'm sure as Mom I'll be carrying everyone's (dad and the kids!)

I picked up one of those waterproof card holder in the hotel gift shop....fits all the passes, licenses, credit card that i wear around my neck

I've seen a fair number of people wearing lanyards in the parks. I, personally, prefer to keep everything in my wallet. I've snagged the neck lanyards on things in the past and it hurts when that happens, so I stopped wearing lanyards.

i've heard that lanyards have a tendency to fall apart, so if you use one, make sure it's nice and sturdy so you don't lose it. i just keep everything in my phone case/wristlet.

Those plastic name badge holders can rip off. Especially if you have several tickets in there, making it heavier. I keep my AP in my pocket, but when I've had a ticket I just use a zippered pouch. You really only need the tickets when park hopping and getting FPs, so it's not that inconvenient to pull it out for the relatively small amount of time you need it.

I don't like the feeling of wearing a lanyard, so I wear a very small/lightweight purse. I wear it cross-body so it won't go missing. The one I have has a front pocket with a magnetic closing where I keep passes and FP, which is great so I don't have to mess with zippers or dig for passes.

Make sure it's plastic and waterproof. Unfortunately, DL still uses paper for all tickets that are not annual passes. Paper is easily damaged on water rides and easily lost from pockets. Either on a lanyard or just a ziploc back in your pocket.

The plastic holders that the sell at the resort are cheap and where it attaches to the yardyard easily breaks off. The hole should have a metal ring .My Grandson lost his who knows where but luckily he only lost his room key. He had his park hopper in his pocket. Which brings up another point , you have to take your ticket out of the pouch to scan for admission or FP . If you want one, buy a real nice sturdy re-enforced one from ebay and use it with a Disney landyard. Maybe leather with metal . Avoid those with plastic eyelet.

I prefer to wear a lanyard so I have my pass handy at all times. I purchased a Disney Cruise lanyard several years ago that I use at the parks for my AP. The lanyard has a clear spot for my AP, a Velcro opening for other cards which I use for my fastpasses and a key loop (which I don't use).

Rather than the clear vinyl pouch, I prefer a Witz plastic case -- attached to a Disney lanyard.

The links are to specialistid.com (where I buy them), but these cases are widely available.

That's exactly what I have. But I have mine on a Ravenclaw "school tie" lanyard. :) I absolutely love it. DS has a solid red one he got at Boardwalk once. I carry room keycard, admission, ID, insurance card, credit card, a bit of cash (and since right now I'm at Universal Orlando, my Express Pass as well) in it.

This is the one I use. I love it! I actually want a new one, but the one I've been using since 2014 has held up so well, I don't need a new one. :-) We each have a different color and design. I keep my ticket/AP, FPs, credit card, debit card, gift cards, cash, lip balm, and any other small cards or papers we may need to have easy access to. My daughter carries her own ticket/AP, gift cards, cash, and lip balm in hers...

edit to add: We also picked up one of the regular lanyards at DL that has the little button clip on it that we turned into a belt. So if my daughter is tired of having it around her neck, she can take the pouch off and clip it to the belt (or just to a belt loop if her pants have one).

If the hole on the plastic pouch doesn't break, the side seams split. I LOVE using the lanyard - we just pass it to the next person running FPs. But I have to get a decent pouch for it.
