Key West to Old Key West Day 8
Sunday 18th November
We finished packing, showered, checked out by 8.30 and were on our way up to Orlando.
On the way Theresa spotted what she thought was a big black pig running along the side of the road, however we soon worked out that it would have had to have been a wild boar so chalk another one up to some interesting wild life spotted on this trip.
We stopped at the Fort Pierce service area as Theresa was very keen to try her 1st Earl of Sandwich Holiday Sandwich but she was very disappointed as they werent making them here. We settled for a BBQ chicken and a coffee each before carrying on towards Kissimmee.
We made good time and arrived on the 192 at about 13.45 and headed straight to Maple Leaf Tickets to collect our 10 day non expiry ticket wed ordered online. Next, we popped into Publix for OJ, coffee & milk etc. before checking into our second home, The Sheraton Vistana Resort.
We were in the Cascade section Building 15 on the 5th floor, we had a lovely view from our balcony overlooking the pond and water fountain and from the front we could see the balloon at downtown Disney.
We were almost opposite the main cascades pool area so after a little unpacking we changed and had a little pool time and a couple of Pina Coladas.
It started to get a bit chilly so we went back to our condo and got ready to go out for the evening.
Tonight we decided to eat at one of our favourite restaurants, The Longhorn.
Theresa had the 7oz fillet with cheddar and bacon and I had an 18oz ribeye with the loaded jacket.
They still serve the delicious warm bread too. We were both too full for dessert though.
On our way back to the resort we called in at Wal-Mart and were able to cross quite a few items off of our huge shopping list.
When we got back to the condo we spotted fireworks and we worked it out that it was Wishes. We had no idea we could see them from The Sheraton and we think we must have been staying in the only block high enough and facing in the right direction to be able to.
Tomorrow M.K.
