Thursday 15th November We were both awake early again today; we just cant seem to get onto Florida time this trip. We had some fresh fruit for breakfast and then drove up to the everglades, to Coopertown Airboats. We loved the airboat ride. It feels like youre sliding across the water. It quite fast and the guide was very informative, giving us the history of the Everglades and pointing out the wildlife as we came across it. We even got to meet Big Momma. Afterwards we both held a baby gator. They have a tiny café on site and we thought wed try the gator tail. We thought it tastes a bit like chicken but slightly chewier. Nice, and wed eat it again. The road to Coopertown is being raised and there were long stretches of road works being controlled by men with stop /go boards, except in the states they say stop and slow. We made our way back to Homestead. Whats in homestead? Walmart, of course! Theresa topped up her crafting stuff and I picked up a few fishing lures. We also brought a rather large steak and some sweet potato mash. I cooked it on the BBQ when we got back to the resort and we ate it on the veranda and followed it with a couple of pieces of cheesecake. I went and did a bit more fishing while Theresa got a few more sunset pictures.
