Day 2

Cast
Kaylee – aged 26, first time visitor to WDW
Alan – aged 28, second visit to WDW, first when he was 8.

We were up early this morning and arrived at the bus stop at 7am. We got the bus to Animal Kingdom for Donald’s Breakfastaurus. We arrived about 7.30am and noticed there were already queues outside. We had Priority Seating (PS) for 8am – the time the park opened. There was a separate queue for Donald’s and even though we were early we walked in straight away. ‘Cori’ escorted us to the restaurant – it was quite a walk and we would have never found it. They were taking photos outside of the restaurant so we had this done for $25 plus sales tax you got 2 big photos and 2 small fridge magnets.

Our server was ‘Carrie’, breakfast was a buffet of potatoes, sausages, bacon, fruit and pancakes. I had my autograph book ready for Donald, Pluto and Goofy, we got some great photos too. Mickey should have been in the lobby – but when we left he was taking a break, boo, hoo.

After breakfast we headed up to the Kilimanjaro Safaris, the wait was 40 min’s or get a Fast Pass, for this one we decided to wait as we were looking forward to this ride. The Safari was great we were even charged by the Rhino. We then headed over to Kali River Rapids – this was practically a walk on and yes – I got soaked, I always seem to be sitting in the wrong spot.

Next up was Tarzan Rock’s, we enjoyed this, it was very load the skaters were excellent. Next up was Safari Village, the Tree of life was amazing. We really enjoyed ‘It’s tough to be a bug’ – I won’t say why, but don’t miss this. Here I started my Pin collection with a Kilimanjano Safari pin and we also brought 2 Animal Kingdom towels.

Around 2pm we headed back to CBR, we were still absolutely stuffed with breakfast. We got changed and headed down to the Martinique Pool. It was much quieter than the main pool but also a lot colder, we sat in the sun a while though. We went back to our room and a Wedding Basket had appeared from Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding department. It was in the shape of a Mickey head and inside were chocolates, photo frame, candle and candle holder, Mickey mouse soaps and a trinket box.

We had dinner at the food court this evening as I knew there wouldn’t be many places open at Mickey’s Not So Scarey Halloween Party (MNSSHP). I had pizza and salad, Alan had a Meatball Sub. It also gave us chance to use our refillable mug’s too. We changed and headed out to the bus stop for MNSSHP.

As we arrived it was amazing. The Magic Kingdom was transformed with ghosts flying high above the entrance and pumpkins every where. I had never seen so many people dressed up and I really regretted my decision not to. Adults and Children dressed up there were lots of Captain Hooks, Peter Pan, Buzz and Woody even a couple dressed up as Prince Charming and Sleeping Beauty. Everyone in costume was given a Trick or Treat bag and had the opportunity to have a Halloween family portrait done. As many families queued up for this we managed to walk on lot’s of rides – Space Mountain this was not as good as Paris we thought, Splash Mountain, Buzz Lightyear – with lots of little Buzz’s in the queue and Alien Encounter – don’t sit at the front.

Next was Mickey’s Halloween Parade that was led by Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger all dressed up for Halloween. Cruella was there with some puppies. I think I remember Goofy dressed up as Goofinstein. The characters paid special attention to the guests who had dressed up as themselves for Halloween. This was the best Disney Parade I had seen. This was followed by Halloween Fantasy in the Sky Firework’s where a witch appeared. We left at 10.30pm and got the Bus back to CBR.

Next : Getting our Marriage Licence in Kissimmee, Downtown Disney and Epcot.

........ the Wedding basket was a lovely touch :)

I'm surprised your "quiet pool" was cold - we were in Aruba ( in '99) and our pool was lovely and warm, and we have found all the WDW pools have a great temperature - you must have struck unlucky.
