So, we have 9 people heading down in October, put depo on POR in February. Early FD comes out and the party of 5 says they were banking on FD to stay at POR. Switched to AoA Lion King Suites, then 2 weeks later get the PIN for FD at POR. The next day, I'm online and see availability and call Disney to switch us....."Sorry, no rooms left for that discount code". I said "They have rooms available online, it's my 5th trip there in last 7 years, please help". Nothing. Totally bummed. She said call back to see if there are any cancellations.....We need 3 rooms, so I doubt that happens. Anybody deal with this or have any suggestions for me? TIA

What you see online at rack rate is different than what's available at a discount. That's just kind of the way it goes. All discounts have limited availability, unfortunately.

As nice as it'd be for Disney to recognize frequent visitors, it isn't something that helps make something available when it isn't. There are a lot of people that'd be cashing in that favor.

Since you've already got something booked I'd just keep, checking back, particularly as it get closer to the 45 day marker for that week when people with either need to pay up or cancel.

Great advice Archer, especially about the 45 day out mark. Thanks!

    Sure thing. Good luck!

If it's any consolation, the suites at AoA are really fantastic!

I'm in the same boat:( We booked FD when visa came out at POP standard room since POR wasn't included. Called the day the PIN was released and no availability for our dates, so if your dates match ours it's not sold out, FD wasn't offered from the get go (9/30-10/12). At rack rate every cat is available at POR except standard so we know the resort is not full. Like PP keep checking esp as we get closer and they need to fill those rooms available at rack rate and esp as cancellations come in on those going off property to save money or switch to rack rate at CBR if they open up "new" rooms for 5 for our dates. For us 2 rooms at POP is roughly a little more than $1500 more than POR and that's the cheapest option for us. In Nov of 2012 I was able to snag POR for our December FD when rooms all of a sudden became available and I had tried for months to get in, so see their is hope:)

Uh, no, you can't. If they're out of rooms for a discount, no amount of demanding is going to make new ones magically appear.

Disney is a business, not your dad. What should feel bad and embarrassing is thinking you're entitled to something and demanding it when you don't get it. Seriously. Demand it? Lmao

you can't demand a discount when they don't have 3 discounted rooms of the type you want available for you on your exact dates. Not all rooms are available for the discount. They may have had a limited number of rooms of the type the OP wanted that were discounted, and have sold out of those already. Or they could have had only one or two available but not three.

I swear people need their heads examined when they think they are entitled to everything! LOL

I got extremely lucky yesterday. Disney has sent me 2 pin codes to my email so far for the FD offer. The first time I looked into it they said it was not under my name so I couldn't use it. Then yesterday, another one came! AGAIN, not in my name and I was frustrated that they were sending pins to my email and I couldn't take advantage of the offer. So the CM on the phone called guest services and asked what they could do for me and they approved the pin and I was able to apply it to my reservation! We switched from Pop to POFQ w/ free regular dining for Nov 12-18th with a standard view room! I was surprised standard was available for this, as it always goes quick! They said some CM's would have been very reluctant to let me have the pin code but since the name that was on it was not a name o a guest in their system anywhere, they'd give it to me since it was sent to my email twice. Weird, but I feel very lucky and I would not have demanded anything. I just simply wanted to know why it was being sent to me if I couldn't use it in the first place.

I find this very interesting as I called Weds and then again on Thurs with a pin I received on Weds for the same dates as you and both times I called the only available moderate room was FQ River View….that was it! No other availability at any moderates. I had wanted a standard room at French Quarter and would have booked on the spot but instead am keeping my room only discount booked through a bounce back offer.

You are going the same dates? That is odd because this happened on Thursday. My TA did the whole transaction so I don't know if that has something to do with it. I don't know what they exactly do, but I was surprised to even get standard view.

I have heard from others that this happened to, that the CM's are not budging one bit or allowing it. It really depends who you get on the phone and I just happened to get lucky. It probably will not happen again lol.

Yes, I agree with this. They are very strict with these pins.

I think that POR reduced their 5 person room availibilty with this PIN by a lot. They had some but I think since it cost them more they looked at the bottom line and cut the availibity. Makes sense. We had a group of 5 but then my brother decided to come so we are able to put one person in his room so lucky for us we were able to get 2 garden view rooms at POFQ for nov 19-27th. POR RR are available as well but we will be staying in a RR in july so we decided to switch over to POFQ. I hope something opens up for you!!:goodvibes
