Hey guys

Just arrived at our hotel. The rain is torrential. Tornado warning too!

Meant to clear by Tuesday tho. I hope it's ok by tomorrow evening. I want to do Fantasmic! :)

Ah it'll be grand !! :) Its meant to be ok on tuesday

You are having a little bad luck, sorry to say. Debby kind of formed out of nowhere and has dumped all over the state--we've had a day full of rain up here in the north of Florida as well. Best you can do is hunker down and go with it and have a great attitude. ;) :goodvibes

WDW is the best place in the area to be. I arrived for my vacay with Hurricane Charly in 2004 and WDW was the only place with everything running. It may be lousy out but not a bad place to be to tough out the storm.

The radar shows that, unless something forms behind it, the heavy rains should be moving out of the Orlando area in the next few hours. Good luck.

Welcome to Central Florida in the summer. Granted while this much rain is unusual, it IS hurricane season. Debby was initially supposed to hit San Antonio but changed course and is headed straight for the panhandle. On the plus side, WDW is very good about keeping guests safe in severe weather and there are plenty of things to do indoors if you decide not to brave the parks in the rain.

Any day at DW is better than a day at home! It's a mess, but I love the parks on rainy days! Be thankful you're not my cousin and her family...they arrived last night in Destin...for a BEACH VACATION! I told her to pack up and head for the World...it's always open! :rotfl: :tink:

So sorry!! Hope it clears up. My little sister is there with her friends celebrating her recent HS graduation. Poor kid has been inside a lot. She keeps texting me about the weather. Wish it would clear up for her too! She leaves Wednesday. :(

Hello to another Jacksonville peep!

Yes, it's been raining HARD all night here. It has been a dreary month and a half around here. At least it should keep the wildfires down a bit (but the mosquitos up).

Anyway, I feel for those who've spent they're hard earned money and are in WDW for this. Hopefully, it'll clear out soon and you can get on with your vacation.

Wear shoes that are OK to get wet, and hit the parks. This rain should thin out the crowds a lot.

Hopefully in a day or so the weather front will pass.

So sorry the weather is foul. I hope it's just rain and not thunder and lightening. Be safe! Here's a tip I learned a few weeks ago during our visit. If you are looking at the radar, Disney is near the first "O" in Orlando. That helped us lot. Take care!

That depends on the scale of the map you're using. ;)

It's our Typhoon Lagoon day and have a cabana reserved!! LETS DO THIS :cool1:

I will never dry out today :yay:

Tropical Storm weather isn't normal for us! Possible, yes. We don't have TS every week though! Don't let people try to convince you that Floridians go for strolls in TS wind and rain. We don't! Sorry you are losing time on your vacation. :sad1:

I hope everything is going well! I would have to be so medicated if there were a tornado warning during my visit - I'm terrified of them!

Seriously, look at this as a gift!!! Grab a poncho and hit the parks!!! You'll have little wait times and probably have the park "to yourself". When we honeymooned there in 2002, there was the remnants of a hurricane going through. 2 days of torrential downpours...it was AMAZING!!! We puddle jumped, and rode the ToT 11 times in a row without getting off! Did that on multiple rides.

Embrace the rain, and make some memories! :wizard:

Puddle jumping!!!

College Program Cast Member + Hurricane Floyd + Puddle Jumping = Fractured Leg and Torn Ligament.

Yes, this was how I spent my 7th day as a CM at WDW when Hurricane Floyd was headed straight for Orlando and WDW closed and a bunch of college kids had nothing to do for a day and a half. Of course the hospital and specialists I saw in the area told me it was a bad sprain, then a dislocated knee cap. It wasn’t till I returned home a few months later that I found out what my real injuries were.
