June 22 2012 New York here we come!

Just wanted to confirm with everyone on DIS Boards (since I think the conversation switched over to FB after it was discussed here) ... we will be meeting at the Promenade at 2pm the day we board. Hope to meet everyone there =)
-Kelly W.

Wow, you should have received them by now. How long ago did you book the cruise? We just booked ours a few weeks ago and got our documents a week later. If you used a travel agent, check with them, they might be holding them for you.

Yes I did use a TA. I keep thinking they would be later than everyone else's because she had to receive and mail out but still nothing. I'll have to check with her again.

Thanks!

DJ - Jesse

WDW - DCL gave each cabin 4 special PhotoPass cards to take to WDW with us. We were told to use these while in WDW, and then those pictures would be combined with our pics taken on the ship, and we could include those in any photo packages that we purchased. We could only buy ship photos while on the ship, but we could take home the special Photopass cards to view the WDW pics at home and order some, if we wanted to, as usual for the WDW Photopass.

We were on the 8:15am bus to the Magic Kingdom. We boarded the bus and got there in about an hour or so. (I hardly looked at a watch all week. lol).

We were dropped off in the same area where the WDW Resorts busses are; we were specifically Bus Stop #18. This is where the return busses would be located to go back to the ship. They were going to start running the return busses at 3pm and every hour after that, continually until 10:30pm, which was an hour after park close. Each of the parks had their last bus pick up an hour after park close time.

Other than the special PhotoPass, our day at WDW was like any other. Our DCL Key to the World Card was also our Park Hopper ticket, so that was convenient.

One note about the WDW bus transportation: Please be sure to bring your "excursion" ticket with you that lists your bus time and park on it. They were checking these tickets and collecting them as you boarded your bus in the morning.

The night before Port Canaveral they gave us a special small Navigator, along with the usual Navigator, and this small Navigator contained all of the info you'd need for your WDW day, including full bus schedules for each of the parks.

One note about the dining room dinner menus:

On the menus that I had seen before our cruise, it listed only chicken breast or salmon as the items that were offered every single night. However, on this cruise we were also offered sirloin steak each night. These items came with mixed veggies and rice or baked potato.

On our last night I didn't find anything that I liked on the regular menu so I ordered a steak and it was actually fairly tender, and cooked correctly for "medium".

Captain's Gala has lobster and venison as the big meat entrees, so you don't wanna miss that night!

Debarkation Notes
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2931960&page=4

People are requested to wait in specific lounges for their tag characters to be called. There is a list of which lounge you should wait in that corresponds to which dining room you had breakfast in.

From the Welcome Letter:

Parrot Cay - Promenade Lounge
Animator's - Studio Sea
Lumiere's - Rockin Bar D

This is so you wait on the same deck as your dining room and then proceed to the atrium when you character tag is closed. They are trying to alleviate the congestion in the atrium.

Express walk off was listed as starting at 6:30 am (but had to wait for announcement to be made) and continued until the Ariel tags were called. There was no wait in the atrium. Same with white Ariel tags...they called those people a little before 8:00 and walked right off with no crowd, no wait, swiftly through customs. All the Ariel luggage was grouped together as soon as you walked into the terminal...it was separate from all other luggage

First seating for breakfast is 7:00 am
Second seating is 8:15

Topsiders opens for Breakfast at 6:00 am as well as Cove Cafe. No room service on last morning.

More info. This was from http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2935780

The terminal and boarding process was fine. Don't get there too early because they don't start boarding until the time they tell you to get there.

There was a character breakfast! It was fun. Characters didn't spend much time with us, but it was nice.

The trip to and from WDW was fine. We were told it was a 45min drive, but it seemed longer. Not sure if there were bathrooms... They were the Disney Cruise Line buses that are sometimes used at the parks.

Each park had it's own bus and stop (at MK it was #18, right by the Pop bus pickup). They provided cold water bottles to everyone getting on the bus which was greatly appreciated after the super hot day. And no, the buses were strictly for the park they were picking up from. They did not go to other parks to pick people up.

The ship KTTW was our park ticket but you couldn't use it to charge anything at the parks.

WDW Day - Breakfast opened at 5:45 am in Topsiders

they had tea with Alice

The shows were (in order) twice charmed (1st sea day/formal night), villains tonight, walt disney dreams come true (night before WDW day), and Disney dreams (2nd to last night).

We also had PUB NIGHT last night in Rockin Bar D. They said this was the first time in a year it's been performed on the Magic.

we had a comedy juggler, a comic musician (John Charles?), alfred and seymour, and a ventriloquist (lynn something). We dropped off the juggler and ventriloquist mid cruise and picked up Alfred and Seymour and the comic musician.

Don't quote me, but I think the cd was like 300 or 349? It also could include your WDW pics with the special photo pass cards they gave us.

I'm guessing the Walt show is the new show? that's the only one I hadn't heard about prior to sailing. It was good..made you want to cry talking about Walt's life and legacy and the parks. It was a great show to have the night before our WDW day and even added some bits of the attractions/music from the MK. Alot of the smaller kids didn't seem that interested though as there was alot of dialogue about Walt and alot of video clips of old footage.

Yes the Mickey Ice Cream bars were on board! Can confirm with 100% certainty that there were Mickey bars; my kids ate them every single night at dinner.

The kids pool and family pool seemed to be busy always.

TIme passed Statue of Liberty - 5:30 pm. specifically checked my watch.

I saw the following: Fab 5 and Daisy, Peter Pan, Alice, Belle, Snow white, Tiana, Aurora, Stitch (on Pirate night), Capt jack, Chip and Dale, Queen of Hearts, white rabbit, hook and smee

She (Statue of LIberty) comes in to view at 5:18 and is out of site at 5:25.

Tisa was the club host. She's a ball of energy.

Other on board cruise staff was DJ Jesse, Frankie, Lara, Kat, Brad, Andy and Brittany...I may be forgetting something though?

Brittany is leaving the Magic to head home for a break after the cruise that sailed yesterday. She and Brad did all the animation classes that they offered on board.

We will try to make it there. We board the ship at 1pm so the timing might be tricky. We'll see. ;-)

I've been stalking DIS looking for navigators. Haven't seen any yet. If anyone finds them, please come back and tell us.

Anyone wanna exchange photos so we might just recognize each other on board?

Here we are last summer at WDW

I'm sixteen and my sister is 18 but we're super close and don't really want to separate to go to clubs. are they super strict about not letting 18 year olds into teen clubs? does anyone know?

also do older teens tend to have fun in the teen clubs and make friends?

does anyone have kids our age?
haha sorry for all the questions :)

My son is 16. The teens seem to make friends. They let the teens pick the activities. So be sure to go and give your input

does anyone have kids our age?
haha sorry for all the questions :)

I don't have anyone this age, but my understanding from reading other posts is that they are super strict and will not let an 18 year old do "teen" stuff. They must join the college age club.

You can probably get more solid answers if you post this in the main part of the cruise forum as you'll find more with experience.

You and your sister don't have to always be parts of a club though. You can go to the pool, movies, family activities, etc together anytime.
