JULY NO BUY!

17: spend $275 (professional licensure dues)
18: spend $316  I rarely go shopping and am getting ready to begin a new job where I will need to wear suits everyday... of which I have two. So I had to actually go buy some professional clothes.
19: No buy
20: No buy
21: No buy
22: spend $163.35. I had to fill my car up and buy feed for my horses, but I did get $30 off $150 worth of feed!
23: No buy
24: spend $57.74. I had to go to the grocery store and, unfortunately, get fast food for lunch. I accidentally left my lunch in my hot car from 8 AM until I was able to get out of court at 11 AM, and didn't want to chance it. I saved $25 with coupons and sales on groceries though!
25: spend $70-ish? Can't remember exactly. DH's family volunteers at the horse shows we manage and drive from two hours away to work all day in the heat, so we always take them to dinner afterwards. I consider this money well spent for their sacrifice!
26: spend $39.93. Went to Target and Wal-Mart I did use coupons and made back $4.75 with discounts from Saving Star making my actual money spent $35.18.
27: No buy
28: spend $92.43. My 14 year old cat's arthritis has gotten pretty bad so I needed to get her some medicine and syringes to give her shots. This medicine will easily last her through the end of the year though.
29: spend $322.42. Had to get DH's oil changed in his car and get new front tires for my car :scared1: I wanted to go ahead and get them done before I start my new job in two weeks with a longer commute. I also went to dinner for my birthday and used a $10 off coupon, so I only spend $8 and change.

Today should be a no buy, but I'll probably need to go to the grocery store tomorrow! Looking forward to joining August's challenge and actually setting a goal!

I didn't do great this month. I think for August I'll lower my goal since it is an expensive month normally. Our schools in Miami start in August. My son needs new uniforms, school supplies...all that fun stuff. I can see the money flying out of my wallet just talking about it. :scared:

I think we'll try a "No Buy" in August as well. It will be another spendy month since we have back-to-school shopping and purchases for our trip in September, but if we sit down and try to plan them in advance, I'm hoping we will be more successful at narrowing down our spending.

No Buys: 11/10

My goal.....to limit my OWN spending for 15 days, with a total household no spend of 8 days.
July 1 $0 1/8 1/15

July 2 $50
July 3 $55 2/15

July 4 $75

July 6 $0 2/8 4/15

July 7 $5

July 9 $0 3/8 5/15

July 10 $0 4/8 6/15
July 11 $140
July 12 $78
July 13 $0 5/8 7/15

July 14 $51 8/15
July 15 $75
July 16 $20
July 17 $245 9/15

July 18 $0 6/8 10/15
July 19 $33 11/15
July 20 $0 7/8
July 21 $2020 :faint:
July 22 $565
July 23 $0 8
/8 12/15
July 24 $101
July 25 $35
July 26 $0 9/8 13/15

July 27 $255 Spent the week catering to DD-shopping, sight-seeing, visiting, playing VERY costly!
July 28 $117 Dental bill for DH and gas
July 29 $0 10/8
14/15
July 30 $49 gift/snacks
July 31 $274 (but we had FUN!)

Reflection: I knew that this was going to be an expensive month-July and August always are-but maybe not quite as expensive as it turned out with pool, dental, parties bills.:crazy2: I was pleased that I was able to contain DH's spending for 10 days! (he's getting on board :teacher:) I didn't quite make MY goal, but it was close. I know where I can put a bit more control. It will be easier when #1DD goes home, but this IS the first time in 2 years that we have seen her, and that makes the spending worthwhile.::yes:: When youngest DD goes back to school September 1, that will help, too. :bored: I'm hoping that August will be a bit better! :yay:
