Could be a sort of test to see how it's received. They may steer away from the classics like IASW and HM as infrequent visitors want to see them in their classic format. Disneyland more of a "locals" demographic.

I would love to know how long the "Jingle Cruise" is going to run. I'll be there for my birthday right at the first of the year and would love to see it!

I could see it being done if the response is positive and if it can be done without the attractions being closed that would result in a lot of DW visitor complaints. Country Bear could be closed one theater at a time and Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy (for Halloween) is a quick install so those are possibilities. Unlikely are IASM which closes for more than 2 weeks to install and probably about 10 days in Jan to take down in DL. Likewise the HM takes about 18 days in Aug/Sept to install and about 10 days to remove in January. Between the length of closures and the fact many want to see the classic versions, I doubt DW would change those rides.

Went on this about an hour ago. A few decorations in the line, and on the boat. The jokes are Christmas themed, but that's it. I have to say, I was sort of disappointed.
