MomToOne, I think your idea is brilliant! I might try that sometime instead, but I'll stick to my 15 goal for now since I have some super lofty goals. I also would love to be able to sock some extra cash into our IRAs before April...

My problem will be with online purchases. So far have 3/18 days. My goal today is to pick up pizza using free coupon I have for my son's dinner. DH and I are eating soup already in cabinet. We both packed lunches again today.

I have some serious savings goals this year - I want a new kitchen!! So I will start out slow with a no buy week aside from $100 on groceries.

I'm not going to track amounts on here for each category (I use YNAB for that) but I am currently under budget :)
 
I feel like a failure lol. We were out of the country so jan 1st thru 5th all good. But yesterday at the airport I could not resist the Michael Kors duty free! So I can't play this game lol

1/4- $13.55 Chocolate. $25.59 Grocery Store.
I predicted $0 but I had to go to the Pharmacy to pick up a few prescriptions. It was a very bad idea to send me past the clearance Christmas chocolate.:rolleyes1. Then I needed milk and popsicles for dd (who has strep) from the grocery store. I ended up with a few other sale items.

1/6 -$17 to have one winter tire put on when we discovered our tire was flat this morning:headache:. Going to have the rest of them put on tomorrow.

1/7 Couldn't leave the house today due to the weather. Which means another no buy day!

01/03: -0- I had every intentions on spending at the grocery store after work. Did all my shopping in record time.... Went to cash out only to find out I forgot my wallet at home today. lol That's one way of having a no buy day!

01/05: $6.00 on 6 newspapers. (coming out of grocery $)

01/07: $25.00 on gas.

Figured I should report in since it has been a week. I have had 4 no buy days. One buy day in which I used a gift card and I bought a groupon today to get a haircut, which I need. Hopefully I can continue to my goal of 15 no buys for the month. Continued luck and will power to everyone else!
 
I went to work today but thankfully we closed early due to weather. I did stop at the grocery for a few things.

We started using YNAB on Nov 1, so I can go back and see what I bought recently. I don't necessarily need to count how many days I didn't spend, although the more the better, but just need to stick within our budget. This accountability will be great!
