I don't know who to vote for. I don't like either of the selections we've been given for this presidential election.

I'm almost certain. Before I decide 100%, I want to see the debates.

I'm not sure who to believe, tbh and I don't think the debates will help.

Can I put Mickey Mouse as a write-in?:rotfl:

Same here. I started out thinking Obama, but now I'm leaning towards McCain. However, neither really reflect my political viewpoint of saying "no" to govt spending and "yes" to personal freedoms. I guess I'd be a Republican if they weren't so taken over by the religious right; now I'm an Independent who usually sides with the Libertarians.

I do like McCain's personality better (just a personal preference. I like Obama too, hence my indecision). Basically, I liked the way McCain was quick and direct with his answers during the Saddleback Forum. Even though I didn't always agree with him, at least I felt like he had a clear opinion and wasn't afraid to offend people by telling us what it is.

I haven't been paying close attention though, so I really do need to watch the debates.

I somewhat agree with you. I think that gov't spending is way overboard and needs to be pulled back abit. I want personal freedoms to a degree (who doesn't?) but I don't mind Big Brother poking his nose in now and again if it keeps people safe. That's why I have TSA-approved locks on my luggage and don't mind taking off my shoes at the airport.

I don't agree with the religious right--I'm a non-Christian with paganistic leanings myself and tbh, the fundies scare me.:scared1:

I've said many times... it will all come down to who McCain picks as VP. If he chooses someone who shares his long-standing values, then he'll get my vote. If he chooses someone to placate the reactionaries in his party who would seek to impose their religious views on everyone, then he'll force me to support Obama.

Another thread seemed to compare Michelle Obama to Claire Huxtable. Hmmmmmmmmm...I think I would write in Claire Huxtable before I would vote for Obama.

:thumbsup2 I wish there was a "none of the above" choice and if that one won then they would have to come up with 2 totally new candidates and start over!!

We'd end up with the same result. The problem is two-fold: (1) The best people wouldn't be stupid enough to put themselves and their families and friends through the invasive abuse that a Presidential campaign requires; and (2) What most Americans want, small government that keeps its nose out of where it doesn't belong, isn't that kind of ethic that fosters campaign contributions, so no party supports that. Each of the two parties get their power from the economic benefit their supporters derive from that party violating what Americans want, in some way.

No clue here either. I am definitely going to vote for one of them, just don't know who yet. I am trying to keep an open mind, but it doesn't help when my UBER conservative husband sits there during Hillary's speech last night and actually backtalks to the TV while she is speaking, and then goes off on a rant about how Democrats are basically Socialists, blah blah blah. I swear I may vote for Obama just to piss him off. :rotfl:
