If you could live in one your ancestral homelands, which country would you choose?

I have a few I could choose from: Ireland, France, England, Whales, Scotland, Italy (Sicily my mom knows specifically), and Portugal (Azores specifically, which my grandmother always talked about).

I agree from what I have seen on TV and in pictures. I honestly do not know why that side of the family left

I guess it worked out for me because I wouldn't have existed otherwise.

Let me tell you that Russia is at the bottom of the list! But I'd probably choose the UK, France or Germany.

Only one ancestral homeland, and I could claim Irish citizenship and live there since my mother was born there.

Switzerland. I still have family in the Italian canton, up in a mountain village, that I’m close with so it’s not out of the question since I have a place to stay. I’ve definitely considered it -and when I retire in another 5-years or so will probably spend 3-6 months there.

Germany = Beer and hot dogs
Ireland = Whiskey and hearty stews

Ireland for me, but we're most likely to choose my husband's ancestral homeland...Italy! He is still waiting to hear from Italy on his dual citizenship application.

I had to climb the family tree for that one.... looks like they moved in the mid 1800s. That is a WAYS back
