how do you buy shoes?

2 pairs, argue about a split or what?

Help I need this info soon

TIA

Buy the shoes for the bigger foot, and add tissue to the other one.

I have a friend who's an amputee, so she only has one foot. She found out that you can't buy shoes 1/2 off if you only need one of them, so her solution was to make friends with an amputee of the other leg who wears the same size shoe. So can you do the same? Find somebody that also has one foot bigger, but the one opposite the one that you have, and then combine in proper order? :D

Just do like I do - wear flip flops all the time. Nobody will notice.

I was in Payless today and they had to check the shoes to see if they actually were the same size etc because they had a bunch of mismatches in the back they couldn't sell. I'd call around and see if any in your area have that problem.

OP,
OK, sorry, I'm not laughing at you. I am sure that this is a real problem. I wish that I had a good answer for you.

I have this same problem. I buy a shoe for the larger foot and stuff something in the other shoe.

When I was a kid I went to a good shoe store that was more interested in proper fit than matching shoes and was happy to give me two sizes. Now I just buy the larger size for both feet and enjoy the roominess for my smaller foot! On the plus side I never have to untie my left shoe :thumbsup2

I developed this problem after foot surgery several years ago. As a result of the surgery, my left foot is a half size bigger than my right. I buy shoes to fit my left and just deal with the right being a little big. As others have said, you could add tissue or a pad to the bigger shoe.

There are several solutions, some better than others:

Go to a custom shoemaker and have your shoes custom fit (could be expensive).

Buy good leather shoes of the smaller size and have a shoemaker stretch one to fit the larger foot.

Like already mentioned, by two of the larger size and stuff something in one to fit the smaller foot. Wearing an extra sock on the smaller foot could also work.

Buy two of the larger size and kick something really hard with the smaller foot so it swells to fit the larger shoe (only if you're that desperate).

Go barefoot.

I'll go away now... :upsidedow

Me, too, antmaril! I have joked with my DH of 32 years that I'm still looking for my "sole"mate.
